Chapter 398

Lorenzo watched as Ella leaned her head against his knee, her small face buried in his lap and tears soaking his pants. At that moment, he seriously considered throwing Ella out of the car.

โ€œWomen are such a pain,โ€ he muttered, annoyance creeping into his voice. He couldnโ€™t help but think about how Stephanie was also a crybaby and wonder how Sebastian had put up with it.

Lorenzo gently picked Ella up and moved her to the seat. Noticing her clothes were a mess, he felt much more frustrated. He took off his jacket and draped it over her.

Meanwhile, in Long Harbor, Sebastian had just coaxed Stephanie to bed. It was especially cold that night, with the warmth of the heater inside contrasting sharply with the snowy view outside. Stephanie sat by the bay window, refusing to go to bed, and Sebastian eventually ended up carrying her to her room.

Stephanie complained, โ€œYou wonโ€™t let me go out and play, and now I canโ€™t even look outside?โ€ She absolutely loved the snow.

Sebastian replied, โ€œYou need to get more sleep. Both Macro and the lady doctor had said that Stephanie needed rest to recover faster.โ€

Stephanie pouted, โ€œBut Iโ€™ve already slept a lot during the day, and now I canโ€™t fall asleep at all.โ€

โ€œI know,โ€ Sebastian said.

Stephanie was confused. โ€œYou know? Then why are you making me go to bed?โ€

Sebastian glanced down at her confused expression, a sly smile creeping across his lips.

Stephanie felt a twinge of unease at his smile. โ€œNo, I donโ€™t want to.โ€

Noticing her strong reaction, Sebastian playfully flicked her forehead. โ€œYou silly girl, whatโ€™s going on in that head of yours?โ€

Stephanie gasped internally. โ€œThatโ€™s not what I thought he meant? Why was he smiling at me like that? It was really unsettling.โ€

Ever since the barriers between them had dropped, Sebastian had become a bit too shameless around her. In her mind, he used to be a perfect gentleman, but she had witnessed his ruthless side, and lately, it seemed he had no limits when it came to intimacy.

Sebastian gently placed her on the bed and turned to grab some medicine. โ€œIโ€™ll put this on first.โ€

Stephanie fell silent. โ€œNot again!โ€

โ€œYou need to take your medicine again, too,โ€ Sebastian added.

โ€œI donโ€™t want to take it,โ€ Stephanie whined. The medicine was too bitter.

Sebastian turned his head with a gentle smile, his eyes twinkling. โ€œHow about some orange-flavored candy?โ€

โ€œAlright then.โ€ Stephanieโ€™s expression brightened. Orange-flavored candy was her favorite, but Sebastian wouldnโ€™t let her have too much sugar. Except when she was sick and needed medicine; then he would give her candy to cheer her up. Any other time, heโ€™d warn her about getting cavities.

Chapter 198

The Shallow Bay Area was warm and cozy, while the Hart residence felt unusually gloomy after Sebastian ordered the blockade. The mansion looked the same, but it had lost its luxurious charm.

Following Allisonโ€™s visit that day, the tension in the Hart residence skyrocketed.

Amber overheard that Oliviaโ€™s weekly medical expenses exceeded ten million dollars. Without hesitation, she took Tylerโ€™s card and phone, forcefully transferring money from his account to hers.

Of course, Tyler was not happy about it, and the situation spiraled completely out of control.

Now, Amber was sitting on the windowsill, holding the child.

โ€œWhat are you doing? Get down!โ€

Tyler, unable to use his hands at that moment, felt a rush of anxiety seeing her like that. โ€œWhat are you doing here right now!โ€

Amber shouted back, โ€œNo! You have to transfer all the money into my account today, or Iโ€™ll jump off here with the kid.โ€

Catlin had actually talked to Tyler about pooling money to help Olivia first. Amber never expected Olivia could influence things so muchโ€”that was over ten million.

โ€œYou get down here first.โ€ Tylerโ€™s head throbbed with anger. Despite his feelings for Amber, his son was still his responsibility; he couldnโ€™t just ignore him.

Catlin was furious at Amberโ€™s behavior. โ€œYou really are happy to see our family fall apart, arenโ€™t you? Get down here now.โ€

Amber glared at the furious Catlin and snapped back, โ€œAm I the one breaking up the Hart family? Thatโ€™s a serious accusation.โ€

โ€œCatlin, I really admire you,โ€ Amber continued. โ€œHavenโ€™t you seen Oliviaโ€™s true colors yet? And you still want to help her without thinking about yourself?โ€

If Catlin hadnโ€™t realized Oliviaโ€™s true nature before, the necklace incident should have opened his eyes. Yet, Catlin still wanted to help her.

โ€œHonestly, even if you told me Olivia isnโ€™t your secret daughter, I wouldnโ€™t believe you,โ€ Amber sneered.
