Chapter 408

Stephanie was chatting with Ella when the call suddenly dropped. She tried calling back, but no one answered. After two more attempts, there was still no answer.

Sebastian approached, quickly taking the phone from her hand and popping a pill into her mouth. โ€œThis is your pre-meal medication.โ€

Stephanie put the pill in her mouth and grimaced. โ€œItโ€™s so bitter. The doctors around Sebastian always prescribe the most bitter medicine.โ€

Sebastian handed her a glass of water, and she quickly swallowed the pill. Then he popped a piece of candy into her mouth. The sweet orange flavor spread through her, making her feel a little better.

โ€œHow is it?โ€ Sebastian asked.

โ€œItโ€™s sweet,โ€ Stephanie replied. The bitterness was gone.

Sebastian playfully ruffled her soft hair. โ€œYouโ€™re pretty brave to spread rumors about Lorenzo.โ€

โ€œWe were just guessing,โ€ Stephanie said, her cheeks turning red. Sofia had said it before, and Stephanie had her own suspicions too. After all, why did Lorenzo always look but never take action?

โ€œWe? You and who?โ€

โ€œSofia.โ€

Sebastianโ€™s eyebrows raised in surprise.

Stephanie quickly covered her mouth. She shouldnโ€™t talk about this anymore; it would definitely reach Lorenzoโ€™s ears, and sheโ€™d be in serious trouble along with Sofia.

Sebastian handed her some clothes to put on and said, โ€œYour sharp tongue must be influenced by Macro.โ€

Stephanie didnโ€™t think so. Macro had the guts to speak both behind someoneโ€™s back and to their face, while she only whispered behind backsโ€”though that wasnโ€™t much better.

There was no snow in Long Harbor today, but it was still freezing outside due to the strong wind. Inside, however, it felt nice and warm.

After getting ready, Stephanie and Sebastian went downstairs together. Henry approached respectfully and said, โ€œMr. Giovanni, someone from the Hart family is waiting at the front gate.โ€

The front gate was about 3,000 feet from the main castle building.

Sebastian glanced at Stephanie, his voice holding a clear threat. โ€œStefi, if those people upset you, why not justโ€ฆโ€

Stephanieโ€™s brow furrowed slightly. โ€œWho is it?โ€

โ€œItโ€™s Mrs. Hart,โ€ Henry replied.

It was just as Stephanie had expected. Chad was now completely focused on the twins. Tyler was injured and wouldnโ€™t be coming. Plus, with Amber around, if Chad continued to devote himself to Olivia, Amber would definitely cause a huge scene.

Since it was Catlin, Stephanie squinted slightly. โ€œIf she wants to wait, let her wait.โ€ She had no plans to meet Catlin. It was all about Olivia anyway, and someone like Catlin shouldnโ€™t be given any hope.

Upon hearing what Stephanie said, Sebastian shot Henry a significant look, his eyes deep and unreadable.

Henry instantly grasped Sebastianโ€™s meaning and echoed to Stephanie, โ€œYes.โ€

Sebastian then took Stephanie directly to the restaurant for breakfast, while Henry quietly left the castle with some people.

At the front gate, Catlin was furious. โ€œWhy are you stopping me? I just came to see my daughter. As her mother, donโ€™t I have the right to see her?โ€

The security guards remained silent, blocking Catlinโ€™s way with cold stares. No matter how much Catlin raged, she got no response, which only pushed her closer to breaking down. โ€œLet me in. You must let me in!โ€

The cold wind howled through the Shallow Bay Area, feeling like a knife slicing across Catlinโ€™s face. She had rushed out in a hurry, barely dressed warmly, and now she was shivering from the cold.

Just then, Henry came out with two servants.

Seeing him, Catlin quickly called out in distress, โ€œHenry, could you please call Stephanie for me? I need to see her.โ€

Henry gave her a cold stare and then signaled to the two servants behind him. The servants nodded in understanding and approached Catlin.

Since the previous incidents, even the servants in the Shallow Bay Area were all from Sebastianโ€™s team over in Fiorenza. They were specially trained, and their demeanor radiated intimidation.

When Catlin met their eyes, a strong sense of danger washed over her. As the two approached, she instinctively stepped back. โ€œW-what are you going to do? Iโ€™m just here to find my daughter.โ€
