Chapter 429

“Stefi, can you help me find my mom and Emily?” No matter how great others were, nothing compared to the sense of security Andrea gave her. Even though they had hardly spent much time together over the years, Ella still deeply relied on her mother.

“Didn’t Lorenzo say he’d help you look for them before?”

Lorenzo claimed he had figured it out. The investigation covered a wide range—they would definitely find out why Ella was being hunted down and identify those targeting Andrea.

Ella stammered, “A—About him, I’m just…”

“What’s going on?”

“I don’t even dare face him now.” Just mentioning Lorenzo made Ella feel wronged.

Ella cursed in her heart, ‘All because of that clueless guy. Although Stefi mentioned that he enjoys looking at beautiful women… But he shouldn’t have taken off my clothes!’

Seeing Ella so downhearted, Stephanie knew Ella must be scared of Lorenzo. With a nervous laugh, she reassured Ella, “Actually, Lorenzo’s really not that bad. He just has a cold exterior.”

“Yeah, in your eyes, everyone except the Hart family is like angels with no flaws.” Stephanie even thought that Chris was just a fool and oblivious.

“You’re really good at bringing up things best left unsaid.” Ever since signing that estrangement agreement with Catlin, Stephanie had completely cut ties with them.

When Sebastian walked in, he saw Stephanie, freshly showered and sitting on the bed in her pajamas, talking on the phone. Seeing him, Stephanie quickly said into the phone, “Gotta go, we’ll talk tomorrow.” She then hung up.

Sebastian sat down on the bed, a faint smell of smoke hinting he’d smoked a lot in the study. He reached out to gently tousle her soft hair. “Who were you talking to?”

Stephanie said, “Ella, she was crying terribly.”

“What?” Sebastian asked, confused.

Stephanie said, “Lorenzo took her clothes off. You need to talk to him; that’s not okay.”

She added in her heart, ‘He really scared Ella. A man shouldn’t act that way. If he can’t do further, he shouldn’t mess things up for others. Ella has a future; she’ll get married someday. Can’t let Lorenzo mess with her.’

Sebastian raised an eyebrow. “Talk to him?” He thought he must have misheard; Stephanie’s implication was definitely not what he had in mind.

Stephanie nodded earnestly. “Yeah, you really have to talk to him. If there’s something wrong, it should be dealt with quickly. He can’t just act like a jerk because he’s got personal issues.”

Sebastian felt a headache coming on. “Do you think I should talk to Lorenzo about this? Or maybe you can tell me how you think I should handle it?”

“Just say it outright.”

“So I just tell him not to take Ella’s clothes off?”

“Yeah, it can’t be like that.”

Sebastian rubbed his forehead, feeling an intense headache. “Are you running a fever?” he asked, placing his palm on Stephanie’s forehead.

She seemed to have a bit of a fever. No wonder—if her temperature were normal, she wouldn’t have made such a request. She was completely out of it.

Stephanie felt a little uncomfortable after he said that. “Yeah, I have a bit of a fever,” she replied, her voice a bit hoarse.
