Chapter 438

Ella searched everywhere yesterday but couldnโ€™t find her clothes. Lorenzoโ€™s expression darkened as he glanced at his watch. It was too late to have clothes sent over. Finally, he found a smoke-gray pullover sweatshirt he rarely wore in his closet and tossed it to her.

The clothes were large. On Ella, they were loose and reached her knees, giving her a surprisingly stylish look. But Fiorenza was cold, and Ella looked at Lorenzo with a pitiful expression. โ€œIโ€™m afraid of the cold.โ€ Although this seemed like a fix, sheโ€™d definitely freeze outside.

Lorenzo paused for a moment. Once again, he realized how difficult it was to take care of women. Annoyed, he muttered the word, โ€œTrouble.โ€

In the end, after some effort from Lorenzo, Ella put on one of his down jackets, which was thick enough. Lorenzo rarely wore it because he was naturally warm, so he didnโ€™t often need such clothing.

Eric drove, Cecil was in the passenger seat, and when Bernard saw Lorenzo and Ella get in, he quickly moved to the back seat. When Lorenzo got her into the vehicleโ€”a spacious Mercedes vanโ€”they sat in the middle row.

The moment Bernard got a clear view of Ellaโ€™s face, he paused in surprise. She was quite different from Lorenzoโ€™s women; she was so tiny. Bernard looked at Lorenzoโ€™s strong, muscular build and then at the petite Ella. Bernard thought, โ€œThis is so mismatched!โ€ When he saw what she was wearing, Bernard was almost sure Lorenzo was perfectly alright in all areas.

Bernard deemed Lorenzo liked petite women. He was getting more and more curious as he called out, โ€œBoss.โ€

โ€œWhat?โ€ asked Lorenzo.

Bernard asked, โ€œIs she going with us now? Are you sure she can handle it physically?โ€

Bernardโ€™s words had a deeper meaning. Even Cecil, sitting in the front passenger seat, could catch what Bernard was hinting at. Bernard was pushing his luck.

Compared to Macro, Bernard still had some brains as he didnโ€™t ask directly but subtly probed. But that was just asking for trouble.

Ella could naturally sense the deep meaning in Bernardโ€™s tone and pressed her lips together, glancing at Lorenzo. Her eyes were teary again.

Lorenzo, frustrated, turned around and glared fiercely at Bernard. โ€œWhen was the last time I shut your mouth for you?โ€

Upon hearing this, Bernard felt his heart stop for a second, and he didnโ€™t dare say another word, quickly closing his mouth. Lorenzo was as scary as ever, and having his mouth clamped shut hurt.

Ella was reluctantly led out by Lorenzo. Initially, Stephanie was quite worried Ella would be frightened, but now, it seemed Ella had become accustomed to it.

In the morning, Stephanie called Sebastian, and he mentioned heโ€™d return in the afternoon. So, she arranged for lunch with Allison, but just as she stepped out, a Maybach blocked her path.

The car was parked two kilometers from the entrance of the Shallow Bay Area, right at the intersection leading to the main road. Chris was leaning against the car.

The cold wind tousled his hair, and through the windshield, Stephanie noticed his dejection.

โ€œMiss, we canโ€™t get through,โ€ said the driver up front.

The car was parked right in the middle of the road, making it clear that Chris was deliberately blocking Stephanie. Stephanie frowned as a call from Allison came through. She answered, โ€œAllison.โ€

โ€œStefi, Iโ€™m waiting for you at the coffee shop on Rigu Street.โ€

Stephanie replied, โ€œOkay.โ€ She hung up Allisonโ€™s call, opened the car door, and stepped out, watching Chris from afar without approaching.
