Chapter 457

Ella nodded. “That’s right.”

Lorenzo stared at her without saying a word. His silence was somewhat intimidating.

Ella swallowed hard. “How about you find a chef who’s good at cooking?”

The food Ella made wasn’t bad, but considering the previous cook’s meals didn’t suit Lorenzo’s taste, she was sure her cooking would be even less to his liking.

Lorenzo said, “You can go now.”

“Oh,” Ella said, and then she turned to leave.

However, just as she reached the door, Lorenzo’s voice came from behind. “Make some blueberry oatmeal tomorrow morning, and prepare some light dishes.”

“I really don’t know how to cook,” Ella turned around and said to Lorenzo with a pitiful look.

She didn’t dare refuse, but she had to make it clear that she truly couldn’t cook.

Lorenzo asked, “Don’t you have cooking tutorials on your phone?”

Ella was stunned. She thought that with his wealth, hiring a chef wouldn’t be a big expense for him. She couldn’t understand why he was making things so difficult for her.

Ella sniffed, not daring to argue. “Alright then.”

Suddenly, she remembered something. “There aren’t any food in the fridge.”

“Cecil will bring some food over,” Lorenzo said.

Realizing she couldn’t refuse, Ella resigned herself to the situation.

Ella left Lorenzo’s room feeling utterly drained and pitiful. She hoped Stephanie could quickly help her find Andrea, get to the bottom of things, and let her return to a peaceful life as soon as possible.

Lorenzo watched her leave, her back stiff with reluctance and frustration. Even from behind, he could sense her discomfort, and he couldn’t help but smile.

Ella went downstairs and resigned herself to cleaning up the kitchen.

Just as she was about to head back upstairs, Cecil arrived, carrying a large bag in his hand.

Upon seeing her, Cecil respectfully greeted her with, “Mrs. Moretti.”

Ella was puzzled by the title. She instinctively replied, “I’m not Lorenzo’s wife. Don’t call me that.”

The term seemed to imply that she and Lorenzo were a couple.

Cecil smiled but did not argue. “These are the ingredients Mr. Moretti sent over. You’ll have your hands full tomorrow morning.”

Compared to Bernard, Cecil at least had some emotional intelligence. He did not contradict Ella, nor did he embarrass her further.

Ella glanced at the variety of vegetables, some of which she did not recognize. She even asked Cecil the names of these unfamiliar items. As for the cooking methods, she would have to rely on the app tutorials as Lorenzo had suggested.

Seeing that Ella was unfamiliar with a few of the ingredients, Cecil couldn’t help but worry. “Are you sure you can manage?” he asked.

“I should be able to,” Ella replied. She had learned how to cook oatmeal from a tutorial, and even though her first attempts at cooking might not be perfect, the food would still be edible.

Cecil nodded. “Alright then.”

Ella remained silent for a moment.

“By the way, Mr. Moretti might have a fever tonight,” Cecil added. “Please keep an eye on him. He must not take a bath.”

After Lorenzo had been treated for his injuries, he would always take a bath. His subordinates found it impossible to dissuade him. Cecil thought that now that Lorenzo had a woman around, things might be different.

“What? What am I supposed to do?” Ella was taken aback. As a girl, she found the situation quite awkward.

“Just keep an eye on him,” Cecil explained.

Ella didn’t think that was something she could do. “I’m not his girlfriend,” she said.

“But you are the only one living here with Mr. Moretti now. So, please,” Cecil said politely, leaving Ella with no room to refuse.

“If he has a fever tonight, please give him some fever-reducing medicine,” Cecil continued. “If his fever doesn’t go down, you can use physical methods to assist.”

“Physical methods?” Ella was a bit confused. It felt like she was being asked to take care of a child, and it seemed quite troublesome.

“Like wiping his entire body with warm water,” Cecil clarified.

Ella couldn’t believe what she was hearing. “His entire body?”

“Yes,” Cecil said, “just like how Mr. Moretti wiped you down the other night.”

The room suddenly fell silent. Ella stared at Cecil, completely stunned.
