Chapter 474
After washing her face, Ella went straight to the kitchen. She rummaged through the refrigerator to find the pasta and some essential ingredients, bustling around like a little whirlwind.
Lorenzo, seated in his spot, had a clear view of the kitchen. With a glance, he watched the busy little figure moving about. A strange feeling, one he had never experienced before, welled up inside him. It was hard to describe, but it wasnโt unpleasant.
Meanwhile, in Long Harbor, when Sebastian woke up, Stephanie was lying in his arms. She was docile and adorable, lying quietly without much movement throughout the night. Sebastianโs eyes softened with tenderness as he couldnโt resist placing a kiss on her face. His movements were gentle as he got up, careful not to wake her.
Without disturbing Stephanie, Sebastian left the room. Downstairs, the butler was waiting at the foot of the stairs. Upon seeing Sebastian come down, he respectfully called out, โMr. Giovanni.โ Sebastian glanced at the butler and said, โDonโt wake her.โ โUnderstood,โ Henry nodded.
Stephanie always did as she pleased around Sebastian. They wouldnโt dare risk her morning temper even if given ten chances. As Sebastian was leaving, Henry thought for a moment and then said, โMr. Giovanni, Ms. Giovanni hasnโt been eating well these past few days. Should I call a doctor to check on her?โ
Sebastian fell silent. โNot eating well?โ Come to think of it, Stephanie hadnโt been fussing about wanting food at night lately. Previously, if she didnโt get to eat enough during dinner, she would definitely sneak downstairs to find something to eat in the middle of the night. However, she hadnโt complained about being hungry these past few days.
Sebastian considered for a moment and then said, โCall her friend Allison and ask her to come over.โ Macro was going out with him, and Allison seemed to be some kind of obstetrics and gynecology expert. For some reason, the moment Sebastian thought of the words โobstetrics and gynecology,โ he instinctively wanted Allison to check on Stephanie.
Henry nodded and said, โAlright, Iโll call Dr. Pierce later.โ Without another word, Sebastian left the house.
Stephanie woke up half an hour after Sebastian had left. She went downstairs but didnโt see Sebastian. Instead, she saw Henry speaking sternly into the phone. โMs. Giovanni wonโt want to see anyone from the Hart family. Just turn them away,โ he said. She couldnโt hear what was said on the other end of the line, but then Henry said, โYes, just turn them away.โ
Stephanie fell silent. โThe Hart family? Recalling what Ella had said, that girl really had a knack for predicting things. With Catlinโs huge issue, the entire Hart family must be in an uproar right now.
Henry hung up the phone and turned to see Stephanie coming down the stairs. He respectfully called out, โMs. Giovanni.โ โWhereโs my brother?โ Stephanie asked instinctively. Even though she was now with Sebastian, she still referred to him as โbrotherโ when asking about him.
โMr. Giovanni has gone out and instructed us not to wake you,โ Henry replied. โWhen did he leave?โ Stephanie inquired. โHalf an hour ago,โ Henry answered.
Stephanie was quiet for a moment. It hadnโt been that long. She glanced at the butler. โDid someone from the Hart family come?โ Henry nodded. โYes, it was Mr. Tyler Hart.โ
โTyler?โ Stephanie looked at the butler. Ellaโs little gossip turned out to be quite prophetic. If given the chance, she might as well start fortune-telling. She had accurately predicted who from the Hart family would come to see her first. Stephanie was sure that Tyler was here for Catlin.
Suddenly, Stephanieโs phone buzzed. She picked it up and saw it was Allison calling. She answered, โAllison.โ โStefi, my car is stuck about three hundred yards from the gate of Shallow Bay Area,โ Allison said.
Stephanie was taken aback. โIs there a pothole on the ground?โ There shouldnโt be. The road was in good condition. Allison replied, โI drove into a rut.โ
