Listen to this chapter:

Henry felt relieved upon hearing Stephanieโ€™s words. After all, the Hart family were her blood relatives, and they were still concerned that Stephanie might care about them deep down. Little did they know, the people Stephanie truly cared about most were the Giovanni family and the elders of the Lucano family. She cared about everyone, except for the Hart family, her own blood relatives, whom she couldnโ€™t and wouldnโ€™t care about.

Stephanieโ€™s phone vibrated. She glanced at it and saw it was Sofia calling. She answered, her voice soft and sweet. โ€œSofia.โ€

โ€œWhen are you heading back to Fiorenza?โ€ Sofia asked.

โ€œHopefully today, if nothing goes wrong,โ€ Stephanie replied meekly.

The softness of her voice almost melted Sofiaโ€™s heart on the other end of the line. โ€œHurry up then. Iโ€™ve designed a few wedding dresses for you. You should try them on when you get back.โ€

Stephanie fell silent. โ€˜Wedding dresses. Who would have thought that Sofia, with her tomboyish personality, could design something so beautifully delicate?โ€™ Before her wedding to Chris, she had gone to try on a wedding dress, not because of Chris, but because she recognized that the store had a dress designed by her sister Sofia. Fortunately, the one that got torn wasnโ€™t designed by Sofia; otherwise, she would have had to apologize profusely.

โ€œThen Iโ€™ll definitely be coming back with my brother,โ€ Stephanie mumbled.

Wherever Sebastian went now, she followed. They had been separated for too long, and now that they were finally together, she wasnโ€™t about to let him out of her sight.

โ€œStill calling him โ€˜brotherโ€™?โ€ Sofia taunted her.

Stephanie paused. She couldnโ€™t do that anymore. After thinking for a moment, she corrected herself. โ€œSebastian and I have been apart for so long. Of course, Iโ€™ll be wherever he is.โ€

โ€œWow, you say โ€˜Sebastianโ€™ so smoothly now,โ€ Sofia remarked with a hint of amusement.

Stephanie fell silent again. Her face turned red involuntarily at Sofiaโ€™s words. She grumbled, โ€œI donโ€™t want to talk about this anymore.โ€

โ€œAre you really together with him now?โ€ Sofia probed, though she already knew the answer. She was just teasing Stephanie on purpose.

โ€œYouโ€™re so easy to fool. But Iโ€™m glad itโ€™s him whoโ€™s fooling you. If it were some random guy, Iโ€™d have to teach him a lesson,โ€ Sofia continued.

Stephanieโ€™s eyes widened in surprise. โ€œTeach him a lesson? Are you serious?โ€

โ€œThen teach Sebastian a lesson,โ€ Stephanie retorted.

โ€œWho do you think I am?โ€ Sofia laughed. โ€œI wouldnโ€™t dare. Not just with Sebastian, but with anyone close to him, I wouldnโ€™t dare to interfere if they managed to win your heart.โ€

Stephanie huffed and said, โ€œIโ€™m not talking to you anymore.โ€

โ€œHey, so should I consider you my sister or my little sister-in-law from now on?โ€ Sofia joked.

Stephanie was left speechless.

โ€œYouโ€™re really something, Stephanic. Iโ€™ve always treated you like a sister, and now you want to be my sister-in-law?โ€ Sofia teased further.

Stephanie was taken aback. She couldnโ€™t let this conversation continue and quickly hung up the phone.

It was only after ending the call that she realized something. โ€˜Didnโ€™t Sofia go to Sandara? Why was she asking when Stephanie was heading back to Fiorenza? Could it be that she had returned?โ€™ Thinking about Richardโ€™s return as well, Stephanie felt a pang of irritation. โ€˜How dare that jerk go back? How does he even have the nerve to return?โ€™

Just after hanging up with Sofia, Allisonโ€™s call came through. โ€œStefi, youโ€™re going to have to send another car.โ€

โ€œHuh?โ€ Stephanie was puzzled.

โ€œYour car that came to tow mine got dragged down too,โ€ Allison said.

Stephanie was taken aback. โ€˜How high is the rut? It actually dragged the tow car down as well?โ€™

Allison replied, โ€œNow the car is completely stuck down there!โ€ In any case, the situation was quite serious.

Stephanieโ€™s lips twitched. โ€œSo, how high was the rut?โ€

โ€œAbout seven feet, I guess? At first, I was just hanging on the edge with one wheel down, but now the whole carโ€™s down,โ€ Allison said.

With the road being so slippery, it was no easy task to tow her car back up. And so, both cars ended up going down together.

Stephanie fell silent. โ€˜Seven feet!โ€™

โ€œLooks like weโ€™re going to have to call for a rescue vehicle,โ€ Stephanie suggested.
