Henry felt relieved upon hearing Stephanie’s words. After all, the Hart family were her blood relatives, and they were still concerned that Stephanie might care about them deep down. Little did they know, the people Stephanie truly cared about most were the Giovanni family and the elders of the Lucano family. She cared about everyone, except for the Hart family, her own blood relatives, whom she couldn’t and wouldn’t care about.

Stephanie’s phone vibrated. She glanced at it and saw it was Sofia calling. She answered, her voice soft and sweet. “Sofia.”

“When are you heading back to Fiorenza?” Sofia asked.

“Hopefully today, if nothing goes wrong,” Stephanie replied meekly.

The softness of her voice almost melted Sofia’s heart on the other end of the line. “Hurry up then. I’ve designed a few wedding dresses for you. You should try them on when you get back.”

Stephanie fell silent. ‘Wedding dresses. Who would have thought that Sofia, with her tomboyish personality, could design something so beautifully delicate?’ Before her wedding to Chris, she had gone to try on a wedding dress, not because of Chris, but because she recognized that the store had a dress designed by her sister Sofia. Fortunately, the one that got torn wasn’t designed by Sofia; otherwise, she would have had to apologize profusely.

“Then I’ll definitely be coming back with my brother,” Stephanie mumbled.

Wherever Sebastian went now, she followed. They had been separated for too long, and now that they were finally together, she wasn’t about to let him out of her sight.

“Still calling him ‘brother’?” Sofia taunted her.

Stephanie paused. She couldn’t do that anymore. After thinking for a moment, she corrected herself. “Sebastian and I have been apart for so long. Of course, I’ll be wherever he is.”

“Wow, you say ‘Sebastian’ so smoothly now,” Sofia remarked with a hint of amusement.

Stephanie fell silent again. Her face turned red involuntarily at Sofia’s words. She grumbled, “I don’t want to talk about this anymore.”

“Are you really together with him now?” Sofia probed, though she already knew the answer. She was just teasing Stephanie on purpose.

“You’re so easy to fool. But I’m glad it’s him who’s fooling you. If it were some random guy, I’d have to teach him a lesson,” Sofia continued.

Stephanie’s eyes widened in surprise. “Teach him a lesson? Are you serious?”

“Then teach Sebastian a lesson,” Stephanie retorted.

“Who do you think I am?” Sofia laughed. “I wouldn’t dare. Not just with Sebastian, but with anyone close to him, I wouldn’t dare to interfere if they managed to win your heart.”

Stephanie huffed and said, “I’m not talking to you anymore.”

“Hey, so should I consider you my sister or my little sister-in-law from now on?” Sofia joked.

Stephanie was left speechless.

“You’re really something, Stephanic. I’ve always treated you like a sister, and now you want to be my sister-in-law?” Sofia teased further.

Stephanie was taken aback. She couldn’t let this conversation continue and quickly hung up the phone.

It was only after ending the call that she realized something. ‘Didn’t Sofia go to Sandara? Why was she asking when Stephanie was heading back to Fiorenza? Could it be that she had returned?’ Thinking about Richard’s return as well, Stephanie felt a pang of irritation. ‘How dare that jerk go back? How does he even have the nerve to return?’

Just after hanging up with Sofia, Allison’s call came through. “Stefi, you’re going to have to send another car.”

“Huh?” Stephanie was puzzled.

“Your car that came to tow mine got dragged down too,” Allison said.

Stephanie was taken aback. ‘How high is the rut? It actually dragged the tow car down as well?’

Allison replied, “Now the car is completely stuck down there!” In any case, the situation was quite serious.

Stephanie’s lips twitched. “So, how high was the rut?”

“About seven feet, I guess? At first, I was just hanging on the edge with one wheel down, but now the whole car’s down,” Allison said.

With the road being so slippery, it was no easy task to tow her car back up. And so, both cars ended up going down together.

Stephanie fell silent. ‘Seven feet!’

“Looks like we’re going to have to call for a rescue vehicle,” Stephanie suggested.
