Chapter 485
Even after a closer look, Bernard couldnโt figure out what it was. Confused, he asked, โMr. Moretti, what exactly are you eating? It doesnโt look delicious.โ
Ella was speechless. Eric and Cecil were speechless, thinking, โIs Bernard a complete idiot? If Macro goes to the Moalee Desert, he would make a great partner. He said that sentence so stupidly.โ
Hearing Bernardโs comment, Ella instinctively glanced at the pasta before her. Her heart skipped a beat. Ella thought, โDoes he have any sense? Is that even a question he should ask?โ
Lorenzo shot a dark look at Bernard. โSo tell me, what does this food look like to you?โ
Ella and Cecil glanced at Bernard, giving him warning looks, while Eric quietly sat off to the side. Eric had already figured out that he should keep his distance from Bernard. Going out with Bernard could easily lead to trouble.
Bernard replied, โThisโฆโ He thought, โWhat kind of food is this supposed to be? Can I say it looks like something pigs would eat? Honestly, no one would make this for people, right?โ
Ella quietly ate, trying to make herself as inconspicuous as possible, not daring to speak. Bernard also seemed to pick up on the atmosphere and immediately stopped talking.
But Lorenzo wasnโt planning to let him skip out that easily. Lorenzo said in a cold voice, โThereโs more in the pot. Go eat.โ He had seen what Ella cooked earlier. For Ella to make food like that was ridiculous.
Bernard shook his head and said, โIโm not hungry.โ He thought, โWhat was that stuff even supposed to be? It didnโt look appetizing at all, not even for pigs.โ
Lorenzo said, โGo eat.โ His tone was a bit more forceful. Bernard sensed trouble and didnโt dare argue further. He glanced at Lorenzo, then at Ella, who had cooked the meal and was already silently cursing herself.
Bernard was heading to the kitchen. Cecil said, โElla made this herself. Eat it properly, and no being picky.โ The words โno being pickyโ were said with a slightly firmer tone.
It was a clear reminder to Bernard that if he didnโt eat properly today, there wouldnโt be any good consequences for him. Just one sentence: You will eat whether you want to or not. Bernard got the message loud and clear.
Ella lowered her head even more, trying hard to finish the food in her bowl. She was full, but after hearing Lorenzoโs warning to Bernard, she knew if she didnโt finish her meal, things wouldnโt go well for her. Ella was on the verge of tears.
Bernard walked into the kitchen and saw a pot of sticky mess. It was hard to describe, and just looking at it made him feel queasy.
Bernard thought, โWhat kind of person could turn a good meal into something like this? Especially hearing Ella eating it with enthusiasm, could she stand it?โ
Ella instinctively glanced at Lorenzo. โI donโt have enough, maybe he shouldnโt eat it.โ She was struggling desperately.
Lorenzo definitely wouldnโt eat something that looked like this, but if Bernard tried it, heโd surely notice the problem. Without a strong stomach, he might not be able to keep it down.
Bernard almost lost it after hearing Ellaโs words in the kitchen. He thought, โEating this stuff and still saying thereโs not enough. Maybe Ella never had anything good before?โ
Lorenzo gave her a side glance and pushed his bowl over to Ella. โWant some of this?โ
Bernard felt embarrassed and quietly served himself a bowl. He didnโt dare to join Lorenzo to eat, so he stayed in the kitchen.
Trying to suppress his discomfort, Bernard took a bite. The dish was overwhelmingly salty with an indescribably strange taste. Bernardโs expression went from uncomfortable to utterly twisted.
