Chapter 549

โ€œHe took Macro to Long Harbor, and now that theyโ€™re back, the medical room has all the equipment. Shouldnโ€™t Macro be the one checking on Ms. Giovanni instead of me?โ€ Jesse thought, feeling something was amiss.

Macro tried to dismiss it. โ€œIโ€™m busy.โ€

โ€œBusy with what?โ€ Jesse asked, confused.

Macro clenched his jaw. โ€œIโ€™m heading to Moalee Desert. I need to get ready. Stefiโ€™s in your hands now.โ€ He said it through gritted teeth, obviously frustrated. Then he stood up and stormed out.

Even though the situation in Moalee Desert was urgent, Macro didnโ€™t want to go, especially not to Moalee Desert, a place known for its extreme weather and frequent outbreaks of disease. Even the most talented geniuses avoided it. So, of course, Macro wasnโ€™t excited to go there, either.

Macro left, and Jesse sat there, lost in thought. A few moments later, Sofia and Lottie walked in, bringing Stephanie with them into the medical room.

Seeing Lottie, Jesse quickly stood up. He greeted them respectfully. โ€œMrs. Lucano, Ms. Giovanni.โ€

Lottie pulled Stephanie closer and said, โ€œHurry up and take care of her wounds. By the way, she might be pregnant. See what medicine we should give her.โ€

Jesse thought, โ€˜Pregnant? Macro is trying to trick me, huh? If I just listen to him, check her stomach, and hand her a bunch of meds, Mr. Giovanni will probably send me to the Moalee Desert, too. Iโ€™ll deal with that idiot later!โ€™

When Jesse didnโ€™t move, Lottie asked, โ€œWhatโ€™s going on?โ€

โ€œIโ€™ll take care of Ms. Giovanniโ€™s wounds first,โ€ Jesse replied, snapping out of his thoughts. He quickly grabbed some medication that was safe for pregnant women and started bandaging Stephanieโ€™s wounds. His anger toward Macro was really starting to build.

Meanwhile, in the study, Sebastian lit a cigarette, his face dark as he tossed the cigarette box to Richard. Richard caught it and irritably pulled out a cigarette, lighting it. His breathing was still shaky, his chest tight.

โ€œSheโ€™s really pregnant? The baby is yours?โ€ Richard asked coldly, his voice full of threat, like he was about to snap. It was as if Sebastian just had to say yes, and Richard would tear him apart right then.

Sebastian gave him a cold look, not answering. That look alone made Richard mad. โ€œSebastian, sheโ€™s my fiancรฉe,โ€ he yelled, his teeth clenched in anger.

โ€œIt was arranged by our families. Who the hell do you think you are, trying toโ€”โ€ Richard couldnโ€™t hold it in anymore, his temper flaring up. He slammed his fist onto the desk with such force that the little decorations on it shook.

The two men stared each other down, their glares so cold and intense that it felt like the whole room was about to explode.

Sebastian sneered. โ€œFamily agreements, huh? You didnโ€™t forget how they were when they made that agreement, did you?โ€

โ€œWhat do you mean?โ€ Richard said through clenched teeth.

Even though he knew he could never take on Sebastian at that moment, Richard still wanted to punch him in the face.

Sebastian crossed his fingers and leaned forward on the desk. โ€œThey were both completely wasted. And you, a sane person, actually took what they said seriously?โ€

Richard froze, his breath caught. The memory of that night flashed in his mind. He knew Sebastian was right. The agreement had been made when his father and Sebastianโ€™s father were both totally drunk.

โ€œSo what?โ€ Richard asked, now boiling with anger. โ€œJust because they were drunk, does that make them not elders anymore?โ€ He didnโ€™t care if Sebastian thought the marriage agreement was a joke, but he took it seriously.

Sebastian chuckled. โ€œIs your father still your elder?โ€

Richard froze again, his mind racing with disbelief. โ€œThat old manโ€ฆ what kind of elder is he, anyway?โ€ he thought.

Sebastian scoffed. โ€œIf I remember right, you and your dad cut ties two years ago, didnโ€™t you? And youโ€™ve been telling everyone youโ€™re not part of the Casalini family anymore.โ€

Richard growled, โ€œIโ€™m not part of the Casalini family, but Iโ€™m Richard, and Stephanie is my fiancรฉe.โ€

Sebastian raised an eyebrow. โ€œSo, whatโ€™s your point?โ€

Richard stayed silent.

Sebastianโ€™s eyes narrowed. โ€˜Youโ€™re not getting anything out of this!โ€™

Richardโ€™s heart sank. His anger took over, and in a fit of rage, he snapped, โ€œI donโ€™t care. Sheโ€™s mine. You need to give her back to me.โ€ He said that with fury, but if you listened closely, there was a hint of pain in his voice. Ever since the agreement between the two families, heโ€™d always considered Stephanie his. And now, Sebastian was being unreasonable, trying to take her away.
