Chapter 561

Stephanie said, โ€œOkay, Iโ€™ll help you check.โ€ She thought, โ€˜If itโ€™s Ellaโ€™s momโ€ฆ If it is, then this could be a big deal. After all, the leaderโ€™s rise to power was disgraceful.โ€™

The two talked further over the phone before hanging up, with Stephanie reassuring Ella. Meanwhile, Ella was curled up on a small couch, her mind racing.

Ella thought, โ€˜Lorenzo said he likes me? Why would he say that? Could he be trying to trick Mr. Giovanni? That would be brave, daring to deceive even Mr. Giovanni.โ€™

Lost in thought, Ella heard a noise from the balcony window, which startled her and made her pupils shrink. Before she could react, she heard the balcony glass door open, followed by the swish of the curtains being drawn.

Ella met Lorenzoโ€™s intense gaze. Her mind went blank.

Ella looked at Lorenzo and then at the glass door behind him. โ€œYouโ€ฆโ€ She thought, โ€˜Did he climb in from the outside? Thereโ€™s a balcony out there, but itโ€™s practically like climbing through a window!โ€™

Lorenzo walked towards Ella, his tall and imposing figure creating an involuntary sense of pressure. Ella felt the intense pressure and instinctively shrank back, but sitting on the couch, she had nowhere else to go.

โ€œDonโ€™t come any closer,โ€ Ella said pitifully, hugging the pillow tightly against her chest. She thought, โ€˜Is Lorenzo serious? Just because I didnโ€™t open the door, he would give me a lesson?โ€™ The thought made Ella shiver with fear.

Lorenzo glanced at the cabinet blocking the door, a deep and knowing smile on his lips. โ€œPretty strong,โ€ he noted. The cabinet wasnโ€™t exactly light.

Ella felt a wave of guilt and sniffed, casting a pitiful look at Lorenzo. One glance and she already felt wronged, quickly lowering her head.

Seeing her in this state, an inexplicable sense of satisfaction grew within Lorenzo. He stepped forward and easily picked her up off the couch like she was a little bunny. Ella felt weightless in his grasp.

Ella was terrified. โ€œLet me go!โ€ she cried.

Lorenzo gave Ella a little push towards the door. โ€œGo on, show me how you moved it.โ€ He thought, โ€˜Who just casually moves a cabinet to block a door?โ€™

Ella was shocked and thought, โ€˜He climbed through the window to see me move the cabinet away. Heโ€™s got nothing better to do.โ€™

Though Ella didnโ€™t want to do it, she didnโ€™t dare to object. Ella gave Lorenzo a pitiable look before heading over to the door to put the cabinet back. It was pretty heavy.

It was already hard moving it over there earlier, but now with Lorenzo watching her every move, Ella found it even harder. It took all her might to move the cabinet back to its spot.

Ella gave Lorenzo another pitiful look. Lorenzo crossed his arms and laughed lightly, โ€œI donโ€™t see you being that strong, so why go to such trouble to protect against me?โ€

Ella was speechless and thought, โ€˜Itโ€™s necessary. Especially after Stephanie talked about what Mr. Giovanni said.โ€™

Before Ella could say anything, Lorenzo took out his phone and called Cecil. Cecil picked up quickly on the other end, โ€œMr. Moretti.โ€

โ€œSome of the furniture needs to be replaced,โ€ Lorenzo said.

โ€œIs it broken?โ€ Cecil asked confusedly over the phone. But he thought that couldnโ€™t be the case. Those things were top-notch. If someone was tired of looking at them, that was believable, but the furniture couldnโ€™t be broken.

But what Lorenzo said next completely surprised him. Lorenzo just said two words, โ€œToo light.โ€

Cecil was speechless.

Ella thought, โ€œWhat did he mean by that? Does he mean he wants the furniture to be too heavy for me to move? Thatโ€™s a bit unfriendly. Replacing everything so I canโ€™t move it. Does he intend for me not to be able to defend myself against him? Thatโ€™s a bit unreasonable.โ€

โ€œWhatโ€™s wrong with a girl having some sense of security when sharing a room with a man? Is that against the law?โ€ Ella kept mumbling to herself, but she didnโ€™t dare show any dissatisfaction on her face.

It was Cecil on the phone. He felt like he hadnโ€™t heard it. โ€œMr. Moretti, what did you say?โ€ He thought, Too light? What does that even mean?

Lorenzo said, โ€œAre you deaf?โ€ His tone already had a hint of displeasure.

Cecil said, โ€œNo, Iโ€™ll change it right away.โ€ He thought, โ€˜It doesnโ€™t matter if I heard it wrong or whatever absurd reason it is, since Mr. Moretti has spoken, Iโ€™d swap it for the heaviest one!โ€™

โ€œMr. Moretti, Iโ€™ll do it immediately, so donโ€™t worry.โ€ Cecil quickly hung up the phone, still wanting to keep his job secure.
