Chapter 578

Sofia quickly covered her eyes and turned around, but since she couldn't see, she bumped right into the wall with a whimper of pain. Hearing the “thud,” Stephanie winced, imagining how painful it must be. She quickly tried to get out of Sebastian’s embrace to check, but he held her firmly.

Stephanie struggled, “Sofia might have taken a tumble.”

“Don’t worry; she’s fine.”

Stephanie thought, ‘She is really his sister, right?’ But Sebastian was telling the truth; Sofia was always hanging around the training field. A little fall was nothing to her. During intense training, she’d either leave someone battered or be the one who couldn’t walk straight.

Even with her back turned, the sweetness between the two made Sofia feel like she’d get cavities just from hearing it. It was too much for her, and she quickly left.

Stephanie squirmed in dissatisfaction in Sebastian’s arms. “Don’t do that next time.” Her face was noticeably warmer than usual.

Sebastian chuckled softly. “Do what?”

Stephanie said, “When there are people around.”

“There are so many people at home; it’s crowded everywhere.”

Stephanie felt speechless. Sebastian was supposed to stay and watch Stephanie try on wedding dresses, but then Elliot called. Whatever was said on the phone made Sebastian’s expression turn serious. After hanging up, he softened the coldness in his eyes and gently looked at Stephanie. “Remember to take lots of photos.”

“Okay.” Stephanie nodded obediently without asking anything. Sebastian set her aside, stood up, and kissed her forehead. This time he didn’t tease her and just left. As he turned, there was a clear coldness in his eyes.

Outside her room door, Sofia was on the phone. She had planned to head back to her room first, but then Richard called. On the call, he said, “Should I pick you up, or will you meet me at the courthouse?”

Sofia thought, ‘OMG! Could this guy really be serious? Oh my god, this can’t be true.’ Sofia was initially considering just causing enough trouble to marry Richard since Richard couldn’t let go of Stephanie; now Richard was proactive. Nobody knew what his real intentions were, and Richard was quite crafty. This made Sofia determined to stay vigilant.

Frustrated, she asked straight out, “Come on, tell me honestly. How do you plan to use me?”

It wasn’t her overthinking; it was mainly because Dan had left a big psychological shadow on her. She had loved Dan for so many years, and now she realized that everything back then might have just been his manipulation. That was really hard for Sofia to accept.

Richard said, “Use you? Wasn’t it you who was desperately insisting on marrying me yesterday? And then there’s Sebastian–”

“Oh, come on, who was desperately insisting on marrying you? If I really wanted to marry you, would you even dare to accept?” Sofia retorted, clearly annoyed.

All she did was because Richard wouldn’t stop bothering Stephanie. Not wanting to argue with him, Sofia just hung up. She turned around and saw Sebastian coming out.

Sebastian noticed her too. At first, he couldn’t clearly see what state Sofia was in. Now, with a closer look, a chill passed through his eyes.

Sofia felt awkward about the scene she had just witnessed. Hesitant, she mumbled, “Sebastian.”
