Chapter 595

Behind him were the people who had restrained Danโ€™s men. Earlier, they had fought at the courthouse with Richard and others to forcibly bring Sofia there. Those capable of facing Richard were now pinned down by Sebastian.

Sebastian briefly glanced at Dan, then shifted his gaze to Sofia by the bedside. โ€œCome here,โ€ he said, his voice carrying absolute authority.

Sofia instinctively stood up and quickly approached Sebastian. She thought, โ€˜Richard got taken out. No one can defeat Sebastian. Nowadays, everyone in Fiorenza probably avoids crossing paths with him.โ€™

Sofia went straight to stand beside Sebastian. Dan narrowed his eyes slightly.

Before he could speak, Sebastian interrupted with a harsh voice, โ€œThe Rossi familyโ€™s marriage must be pretty important to you, right?โ€ His cold tone carried an unexpected hint of mockery.

Danโ€™s expression darkened further.

Sebastian warned, โ€œIf you donโ€™t want everything to fall apart, stop bothering Sofia.โ€ With a dangerous tone, Sebastian turned with Sofia and left. His retreating figure exuded an intimidating presence.

Sitting on the bed, Dan clenched his fists, his eyes reflecting a dangerous glint.

When everyone was gone, Maxwell, in a disheveled state, got up from the ground and hurried into the hospital room, saying, โ€œMr. Giovanni came unexpectedly, and weโ€”โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s enough.โ€ Seeing Maxwell beaten like this, Dan emanated a chilling aura.

Maxwell thought, โ€˜No wonder heโ€™s one of Mr. Giovanniโ€™s men. Heโ€™s so powerful. I was subdued in just two moves.โ€™

Noticing Danโ€™s grim face, Maxwell thought for a moment and said, โ€œMr. Murry, could all the problems weโ€™ve had recently be related to Mr. Giovanni?โ€

Maxwell thought, โ€˜Mr. Giovanni from Fiorenza. His reputation is not to be taken lightly. Considering everything thatโ€™s happened lately, weโ€™ve never faced so many obstacles. It seems Mr. Giovanni cut us off because of Sofia.โ€™

Dan asked, โ€œFor his sister?โ€

Maxwell replied, โ€œRumor has it that Mr. Giovanni is very protective. Five years ago, with Ms. Giovanni, youโ€ฆโ€ Maxwell paused when he brought up the event from five years ago.

Maxwell wasnโ€™t with Dan before, and he didnโ€™t know what happened between Dan and Sofia. But according to those who were around, there definitely was something between them.

But later, for some unknown reason, Dan lost all his previous memories. They even ordered that no one mention that time in Fiorenza around him.

As for what happened afterward, the connections between Dan and the Giovanni family got unpleasant.

โ€œNot only is Mr. Giovanni protective, but Mrs. Lucano is said to be especially fond of her two daughters. The rapid downfall of the Hart family in Long Harbor had her fingerprints all over it,โ€ Maxwell replied. They were not to be trifled with.

Maxwell thought, โ€˜All the obstacles weโ€™ve experienced recently might not be just Sebastianโ€™s doing. Thereโ€™s also Lottie.โ€™

Sebastian got a call from Stephanie in the car. On the other end, Stephanie excitedly said sheโ€™d already passed Beth and Michaelโ€™s test.

Sebastian listened patiently until she finished talking, then affectionately replied, โ€œThey adore you and will never make it hard for you.โ€

Stephanie was a pampered girl around the family. To Sebastian, Beth and Michaelโ€™s affection for her exceeded what they had for Sofia.

Stephanie mentioned, โ€œMichael seemed a bit uninterested in the gift I brought. It looks like I didnโ€™t pick something he likes.โ€ Her voice was quiet, but there was no hint of grievance, indicating she had a generous heart.

Sebastian sighed and said, โ€œNothing ever seems to satisfy him.โ€ Over the years, Michael had been unimpressed with everyoneโ€™s gifts. It seemed like he hadโ€ฆ

Stephanie asked, โ€œDid you find Sofia? When are you coming back?โ€

โ€œDo you miss me?โ€ Sebastian asked.

Stephanie teased, โ€œWho would miss you, huh?โ€

โ€œThen should I not come? You can be with Beth by yourself,โ€ Sebastian replied.

โ€œNo way!โ€ Stephanie exclaimed urgently. She didnโ€™t want that; as soon as Beth arrived, sheโ€™d start teaching her various crafts, which Stephanie was not good at, and sheโ€™d get reprimanded for doing them poorly.

Even through the screen, Sebastian could imagine her panicked face. He chuckled softly, โ€œIsnโ€™t it because you want to?โ€

โ€œI miss you,โ€ Stephanie replied. She thought, โ€˜Sebastian is terrible, always making me say what he wants to hear.โ€™
