Chapter 623

Stephanie asked, “Busy again?” Ever since they returned to Fiorenza, Sebastian always seemed to have something going on. Sebastian nodded gently and affectionately ruffled her soft hair before leaving the room.

Stephanie was feeling a bit sleepy. She turned over and got into bed, planning to catch some rest. But just as she closed her eyes, the phone rang. It was Ella.

“Did you strip Lorenzo down again?” Stephanie asked. “Or did you try to push him into getting married or something?”

So now, in Stephanie’s mind, these are my go-to moves for stirring up trouble with Lorenzo—either stripping or saying something crazy? Ella thought.

She said, “Remember when I told you I didn’t dare to like Lorenzo?”

Stephanie thought about it for a moment and remembered. Since Ella was always trying to take things off Lorenzo, it wasn’t unreasonable to suspect that maybe she actually liked him.

“I remember, and then what?” Stephanie asked. Could it be she messed up with Lorenzo again because of that? After all, it always happened when Ella got herself into trouble around Lorenzo.

Ella replied, “He asked me why I didn’t dare to like him.”

“Huh? What’s happening here?” Stephanie thought, confused. The Lorenzo she knew didn’t seem like that kind of person at all.

“So, what did you say back?” she asked. That was a lot to take in, and she couldn’t make sense of it all right away.

Ella sighed, “How could I dare to answer? Anyway, let’s drop it.”

“What do you want to talk about then?” Stephanie asked.

“My mom! Now it’s confirmed she was the former leader of Dark Portal. Isn’t that kind of dangerous?” Ella said. She wanted to find out more about Dark Portal but had no other source of information except what she had learned from Lorenzo.

Stephanie replied, “I can’t tell if it’s dangerous or not, but you can’t do anything about it right now.”

When Sebastian found out about this, he told her she couldn’t help. If even Sebastian couldn’t do anything, then Ella definitely couldn’t either.

Ella said, “I want to meet her.”

Stephanie was confused.

Ella continued, “Could Mr. Giovanni help me with this? Stefi, you’re the only one I can rely on right now.”

Stephanie sighed, “I’ll ask him.”

After all, it was about Dark Portal. Even though Sebastian had been involved in Fiorenza’s underground scene for years, he and Dark Portal had always maintained a non-interference relationship. In his own words, the inner workings of Dark Portal were very complicated, and he didn’t want to waste energy on it, especially since his own network was already sufficient.

After chatting a bit more with Ella, Stephanie hung up and immediately called Sebastian. Back in Long Harbor, Ella had always been quick to help Stephanie, and now Stephanie was the same.

The call connected, and Sebastian’s gentle voice came through. “I’m not there, and you can’t sleep?”

Stephanie’s face turned red. “No way. Stop talking nonsense.”

“Hmm?”

“It’s Ella. She wants to meet Andrea. Do you have a way to make that happen?” Stephanie asked. She wasn’t sure if Sebastian could handle the Dark Portal issue, so she had to ask.

There was a brief silence on the phone. Then Sebastian said, “I’ll take care of it.”

“You really have a way? Hurry and arrange it. Ella is probably too worried to eat or sleep because of Andrea,” Stephanie urged. Ever since Andrea’s incident, every call from Ella had been about this.

Sebastian smiled slightly on the other end of the call. “Got it. You should get some sleep.”

After calming Stephanie down a bit, he hung up and turned to Elliot, who was driving. “Call Lorenzo and tell him Ella wants to see her mother.”

Elliot felt speechless. Uh, can’t Ella just contact Lorenzo directly?
