Chapter 653

In room 808 on the top floor of Nocturna, Sofia was still asleep in the bedroom. In the living room outside, Albert and Lott looked at each other, their faces ashen. Theodore was also there. All three held their breath, staring at Richard in a daze.

Theodore was the first to react. He gasped, “No way, you were really drugged last night? And you…” He thought, “This shouldn’t be possible: Over the years, countless people have tried to set Richard up, but none of them had succeeded.” Theodore couldn’t understand the situation.

Albert and Lott asked, “How come we weren’t drugged?”

Theodore glared at them. “Is it possible they just didn’t find you attractive?”

Albert and Lott thought, ‘What does he mean by this? Is he saying we’re not handsome or talented enough?’

Theodore glanced at the bedroom door. They were currently in the living room of the presidential suite. Everyone followed his gaze. They all shuddered, realizing Sofia was inside.

Theodore felt his mind go numb. “Richard, did you really…” he stammered. “Did you really do it with Sofia last night?”

Theodore thought, ‘We’re screwed. This is really going to be bad.’ Originally, because of Stephanie, Sofia had been fighting fiercely with them. And now Richard had actually slept with her. Sofia was going to tear Richard apart.

Richard sat on the sofa, smoking a cigarette. His face was terrifyingly grim, his entire body radiating a dangerous aura. He glared at Albert and Lott. “Who brought me back to my room last night?” he growled.

Albert replied, “Bonag came with us.”

Lott nodded frantically. “Yeah, we were all wasted last night and couldn’t drive. We slept next door.” They hadn’t gone back last night. Only Bonag had left; he and Albert had also slept there.

Silence fell over the room once more. Theodore looked at Richard and rubbed his forehead.

Lott was dumbfounded. “There was no one in the room when we brought you in,” he insisted. “Really, no one!” He wanted nothing more than to curse his luck.

Lott thought about how Richard and Sofia had fought like cats and dogs when they got their marriage certificate yesterday. As a result, they were completely thrown together last night. Now that Sofia was awake, she would definitely not let Richard off the hook. In fact, none of them would be able to escape her wrath.

Albert nodded. “Yes, the room was empty when we brought you in.” He thought to himself, ‘One person might have misjudged the situation, but the three of us brought Richard in together. How could we not know whether there was anyone in the room?’

Before they started drinking last night, Richard had made it clear that his marriage to Sofia was purely platonic. If they found Sofia in Richard’s room, as his best friends, they wouldn’t just leave him there.

Lott sucked in a breath. “Richard, I think you should run.”

Hearing Lott’s words, both Albert and Theodore twitched their lips and looked at him. They thought, ‘What kind of talk was that? He had to run away after sleeping with his own wife? What kind of logic was that?’

Chapter 653

Richard glared at Lott coldly. Lott felt his brain tighten under his gaze. “Y–You can stay if you think she won’t kill you.”

As soon as he said that, Theodore and Albert looked at each other and then at Richard.

Theodore’s tone was flat. “Richard, I think Lott is right.”

Because of what had happened three years ago, Sofia had always been chasing after Richard. Now, although she was legally his wife, Richard wasn’t sure what was going on. Moreover, there was still an unresolved issue between Sofia and Dan.

Theodore thought, ‘Richard just slept with Sofia. When she wakes up, she’ll chase Richard around the world with a pair of scissors.’

Richard’s face turned green. While the others were still trying to figure out what to say, they heard noises coming from the room, including a woman’s gasp.
