Chapter 173

Ellie was Ella Turner's affectionate nickname, as Stephanie called her. Sebastian intended to offer a ride, but Ella's mention suggested she already had plans. He simply replied, "Okay." Then added, "No spicy food." Stephanie responded with a crying emoji. A tender smile touched Sebastian's face as he typed, "Be good." Putting away his phone, he told Elliot, "Let him wait." "Alright," Elliot agreed and left. Sebastian picked up a chess piece and placed it on the board. The moment it touched the board, his elderly opponent stiffened. "You little brat. You really won't give an inch, will you?" Sebastian casually lifted his cup. "Since when have you ever seen me lose?"

"Just because you haven't lost yet doesn't mean you can't lose someday. Just wait and see," the elderly man countered.

"What?" Sebastian asked, confused.

"Richard Casalini and Mervyn Vaughn have made contact," the elderly man revealed.

Sebastian's expression froze; a sharp glint flashed in his eyes. "Mervyn Vaughn?"

The elderly man continued, "Yes. You know how Richard feels about Stefi. Otherwise, he wouldn't have indulged Valentina Casalini in that charade. He's been looking for Stefi all these years, too." Stephanie, however, was exceptionally good at hiding.

A chill emanated from Sebastian as he set down his cup, his gaze sharpening. He briefly closed his eyes. Hendrix Ford glared at him sternly. "That time, you really wanted to wipe him out, didn't you?"

Sebastian opened his eyes, dangerous intent blazing within them. He had indeed intended to eliminate Richard. He asked, "What does the Casalini family have left now?" There was nothing left; his actions against them were tantamount to annihilation.

Hendrix replied, "They're finished. But you know what kind of underground connections Mervyn had in Yeno. If he managed to get involved with Richard, you'd better watch out."

"If he dares return to Fiorenza, he'll find only death waiting for him!" That incident had forced Richard's flight. Otherwise, he would be ashes by now.

Having said that, Sebastian placed another chess piece, sealing Hendrix's victory. He couldn't say much about Richard Casalini; after all, the bastard had provoked Sebastian's dearest favorite.

"Sofia called yesterday asking where you all were," Hendrix mentioned.

Sebastian frowned. "What did she want?"

"She heard you found Stef and wanted to come over. I told her to wait, so she wouldn't interfere with your disciplining the girl."

Sebastian was speechless.

Outside, Jackson breathed a sigh of relief at the instruction to wait; it meant they were willing to see him. Being welcomed was preferable to being shunned. Still in shock, Landyn turned to Jackson. "Mr. Giovanni—is that the man from Fiorenza?" He'd heard of the man's arrival in Long Harbor, news that thrilled him. He longed to meet Sebastian but couldn't get in touch. A man like Sebastian wasn't someone ordinary people could approach. Landyn pondered, "How does Jackson know him?" Jackson grunted. Landyn's eyes lit up. "So, what are we here for?" He wondered if Jackson had sold the ring to Sebastian. If so, he wouldn't dare ask for it back; he'd consider it a gift. "Did you sell the ring to Mr. Giovanni? If so, then I'm not taking it back," Landyn blurted out. He wished Jackson had told him sooner. If the ring was in Sebastian's possession, it was an honor, and he wouldn't dream of reclaiming it.
