Chapter 206
As soon as Catlin saw Stephanie, her expression darkened. Stephanie's face was cold; she didn't even glance at Catlin. Behind her, however, Elliot's expression was stormy. Stephanie walked past Catlin without a word, but Grace, noticing her, opened her mouth as if to speak. No words came. Stephanie walked away.
Grace turned to Catlin. "You think you're holding something precious," she said, her words sharp and threatening, "but you have no idea of its true value. Remember this: if you ever contact Chris about Olivia again, I'll make sure Olivia dies."
Catlin's chest tightened. Unable to speak, she could only stare in shock as Grace left. Leaning against the cold wall, Catlin trembled.
At the Hart family residence, Tyler had just learned that Stephanie had knocked Olivia unconscious, and she was being rushed to the hospital. He immediately decided to check on her. Leaving his office, he ran into Chad.
"Are you going out?" Chad asked.
Tyler nodded. "Mom said Stephanie argued with Olivia at the hospital and knocked her unconscious. She's in critical care."
Chad's face darkened. "What time is it, and you're still not prioritizing properly? The company is in crisis, and you're worried about home matters?"
Tyler's breath hitched.
Over the past two days, whoever was targeting the Hart Group had successfully jeopardized several key partnerships, with partners refusing to cooperate. When Chad learned Catlin had called Tyler, his anger intensified.
"Go to Harrington Global immediately," he ordered. "Meet with their CEO and find out why they want to end the partnership." Harrington Global had been one of the Hart Group's most valuable partners. Chad concluded that the most urgent matter was determining the cause of this large-scale partnership termination.
Tyler nodded. "I'll go right now."
"This needs to be done quickly," Chad emphasized.
"I understand," Tyler replied, fully aware of the potential bankruptcy facing the Hart Group if this issue wasn't resolved swiftly.
As Tyler left, Chad immediately called Catlin. The moment she answered, he barked, "How many people are you planning to send to the hospital to look after Olivia?"
His tone was harsh. Chad believed in traditional gender roles—men handled external affairs, women managed domestic matters. Family issues, like hospitalizations, were his wife's responsibility. The Hart family wasn't struggling financially, so this was unnecessary. He was particularly displeased with Catlin's recent behavior.
Catlin's breath caught. "W-What do you mean?"
Chad snapped, "Olivia's sick; take care of it. Why are you bothering Tyler? Is he a doctor?"
Catlin fell silent, tension tightening her chest.
Chad continued, "And what about Stephanie? What exactly are you doing? What kind of mother are you?" The public breakup with Stephanie, particularly with Catlin's signature on the agreement, had become a spectacle in Long Harbor, inevitably affecting the Hart Group. Chad was furious.
