Chapter 221
Besides, if she were with Sebastian, Chris might try to accuse them of something. He was like a mad dog. While she wasn't afraid of him, she didn't want Sebastian to hear his filthy insults.
Macro scoffed, "Tsk, no sense of adventure."
Stephanie retorted, "What kind of attitude is that? I just don't want to watch the fun."
Just as they were about to continue, Mayra arrived. Seeing Macro and Stephanie together, a trace of hatred flashed across her aggrieved eyes. "Macro, what's going on with you and her?"
Macro tensed at the sight of Mayra. Although they had no relationship, Mayra persistently bothered him. He really hoped she wouldn't provoke Sebastian; otherwise, he would be in serious trouble.
"How did you even find this place?" Macro asked, his voice laced with disbelief. After all, this was Sebastian's private medical room.
Mayra shot a venomous glare at Stephanie before turning back to Macro. "You rejected me for her, didn't you?" she accused. Stephanie remained silent.
Macro snapped, "Shut up. I have nothing to do with you, and neither does she!"
"What…" Mayra's face paled instantly.
"Get out!" Macro's patience had completely vanished. He had no tolerance for overly emotional people. Frankly, when someone's world revolved solely around love and romance, it became a burden on others. It was far wiser to redirect that passion toward self-love.
"What did you say? You're telling me to…"
"Yes, I'm telling you to get lost." Macro had truly lost his patience. He believed falling in love after one meeting was improbable; true love wasn't that simple.
Mayra bit her lip, her glare now fixed on Stephanie. Stephanie retorted, "Don't look at me. If your love is worthless, that's not my fault." Those words left Mayra speechless with furious anger.
Then, her phone buzzed insistently. It was her father calling, likely to ask about the blind date.
Mayra shot a venomous glare at Stephanie before turning to answer the call. "Dad," her voice was thick with resentment. She was prepared to complain about Stephanie to her father. But before she could begin, a low, furious voice erupted from the other end: "Mayra, get your ass back here right now!"
"Dad, what?" she stammered, taken aback.
"You fool, always stirring up trouble. Get back here now," her father snapped. Mayra was bewildered, unsure what she had done wrong.
"And stay away from Stephanie," her father added sternly. The older generation was acutely aware of the recent social turmoil, even if others were oblivious. The Hart family's troubles, the reasons behind Lilian's detention—these were crystal clear to them. They were terrified of their family members becoming entangled.
Hearing her father's words, Mayra thought she'd misheard. "What did you say?" 'Stay away from Stephanie? When did that woman meet my father? And why is he protecting her now?' Mayra's mind raced.
"You have half an hour to get back, or you'll lose your allowance next month," her father declared, brooking no argument. The moment her allowance was threatened, Mayra's composure crumbled.
"Wait, Dad, what do you mean? I'm just…"
"29 minutes left!"
Mayra immediately grew anxious. 'What kind of captivating charm does Stephanie possess to enthrall so many men? Why is Dad shielding her so fiercely? Does he have feelings for her?' This thought deepened Mayra's unease.
"Dad, Mom has always worked hard for the family. You can't betray her," she blurted.
"Are you crazy?" her father barked, his voice rising in frustration. Mayra was speechless.
"You have 25 minutes left. If you don't come back, you'll lose your allowance for the next two months," he warned.
Hearing this, Mayra didn't dare hesitate. She ran toward the Mount Spring gate.
"You're counting too fast, I…"
"20 minutes left!"
Under her father's relentless pressure, Mayra abandoned any thought of confronting Stephanie. If she continued, the allowance for the next three months would be gone.
Meanwhile, Elliot and Sebastian arrived at a small building together. When Chris saw Sebastian in a bathrobe, his expression froze momentarily.
