Alexander understood them well enough to know they were hiding something from their expressions. This wasn't necessarily true, but their instincts told them something was amiss when Yvonne sought Aiden. Aiden had just been whispering with Ines. Damien and Roland assumed Ines was upset, and naturally, they didn't eavesdrop. However, Yvonne, the star of the wedding, approached Aiden with a pitiful expression. "I've been looking for you," she complained. "Why weren't you answering your phone?"

Her flirtatious tone gave Damien and Roland goosebumps. They'd have thought Yvonne was Aiden's girlfriend, if they didn't know better.

Aiden was also surprised, but, unlike Damien and Roland, he and Ines reacted less strongly; they both remembered a past incident.

"What?" Aiden asked.

"I'm not feeling well, and I'm a bit worried. Could you come with me?"

Aiden's expression shifted subtly. He immediately stood up and left with her.

This scene left Damien speechless and bewildered. What's with Yvonne? he thought. If she's feeling unwell, she should seek her husband's help! It's not that we're suspicious, but her behavior is so peculiar. Aiden's reaction only increased their confusion. He was usually indifferent to other women; they'd never seen him show extra care to any stepmother. Why was he treating Yvonne differently? Was it simply because she might be carrying his sibling?

They observed Ines, who surprisingly remained calm. Are we overreacting? they wondered. They couldn't say anything at that moment.

Isabella saw everything. By the time she finished observing, Alexander and the other Quirks had also noticed. They found the situation odd but couldn't assume a relationship between Aiden and Yvonne; they knew the circumstances.

Unexpectedly, Elaine blurted out, "What's the deal? Why is this stepmother involving her stepson in everything? Is she married to the father or the son? Don't tell me there's something going on between them." Deborah, who was sipping coffee, spat it out. Damien quickly gave her a napkin. Deborah stared wordlessly at Elaine.

Elaine smirked and continued, "Such relationships are quite common abroad. Besides, there's no blood relation, and they're about the same age. It's only right to avoid any suspicion. Aiden's actions were inappropriate to begin with. What's even more baffling is Aiden. Since when did he become so polite? Instead of helping his father greet guests, he ignored his girlfriend and meddled in his stepmother's affairs. That's not like him at all. I suspect something's up."

Normally, Isabella would gossip with Elaine, but they knew the truth. Aiden had only helped because of the miscarriage; accusing him would be unfair. They could only listen and chuckle wryly.

After speaking, Elaine ignored the stunned expressions. She hugged Ines comfortingly. "Ines, don't worry. If Aiden dares to wrong you, we'll stand up for you!"

Catching her breath, Ines waved her hands. "No, you've misunderstood."

Elaine shrugged. "Let's hope I'm overthinking."

Ines, despite wanting to deny it, paused. Her pupils quivered, but she finally said resolutely, "Aiden wouldn't do something like that!" That's odd. Is she suspecting something between Aiden and Yvonne, too? Isabella thought. A girlfriend's hunch might be correct. This surprised the nearby Quirks.

Something's going on between Aiden and Yvonne? Is it what we think? Is he treating Yvonne differently because of the miscarriage? They heard Isabella's thoughts again. Whoa! What? A photo?

The Quirks were curious, even Alexander, who paused while straightening his wife's coat.

Isabella's thoughts continued: That photo, taken years ago, shows Yvonne and Aiden together, sharing drinks. Ines wanted to check if it was really Aiden, so she grabbed Yvonne's phone. This startled Yvonne, causing her to fall and miscarry. Ines was distracted and forgot the photo. Now, it's back, making her uncertain if Aiden was telling the truth when he said he didn't know Yvonne.

Alexander frowned. They knew each other?

The other Quirks were shocked. Yvonne is Aiden's ex-girlfriend? How dramatic!

If Aiden deceived her, Ines would be heartbroken. She remembered Yvonne sobbing in Aiden's arms, calling his name and murmuring, "My child My child" Ines couldn't shake the scene, but she didn't know how to feel; she felt guilty about the child's death.

The Quirks were speechless. This sounds so cliché.

Alexander, lacking emotional complexity, thought he'd find Yvonne bothersome and avoid her.

Isabella sighed. Why do I feel Yvonne's being pretentious? From Aiden's perspective, he doesn't know her at all. He's only taking care of her because he's worried she'll expose Ines.

The Quirks were relieved. Good. They don't have a thing.

Alexander wasn't convinced; Isabella's Gossip System was personal. If Aiden didn't remember Yvonne, she was a stranger to him, like anyone passing on the street. Yvonne, however, clearly remembered him, and photos existed, making the situation complicated.

Ines felt uneasy and sought Aiden.

This made everyone uneasy. They wanted to help preserve their relationship, and planned to talk to Aiden later, advising him to be mindful of his relationship with his stepmother.

Aiden was dumbfounded. He stared at Yvonne's pitiful gaze. In disbelief, he dug his ear and asked, "What did you just say? Did I hear you wrong?"

Yvonne looked at him sorrowfully. "Must you pretend? Fine, I'll be blunt. I want you to have another child with me. Only then can we keep this a secret." Isabella was listening. Let me check if they've come to a decision Oh my goodness!

Isabella's thoughts shocked the Quirks. What on earth is going on?
