Chapter 318: The Paternity Test Results
Her words struck like lightning, reverberating through the room and causing an immediate uproar. Isabella was speechless; those in the know were dumbfounded. Sheโd planned a smooth wedding, but chaos erupted with the unexpected arrival of a newcomer. "Who is that?" Alexander echoed Isabella's question.
Damien, well-versed in the family history, explained, "Aiden's former stepmother was abandoned by Ralph when he pursued Yvonne." He then revealed the newcomer's identity: Polly, Ralph's ex-wife. The Quirk family was in turmoil. How did Polly know such a secret? Alexander's doubts grew.
Yvonne, though responsible for Ralph's infertility, was unsure of her child's paternity at the time. Sheโd secretly undergone testing at a private hospital, concealing her identity. Unbeknownst to her, the hospital was owned by her husband's ex-wife, who knew Yvonne and recognized her. This encounter provided an opportunity for revenge. Polly's arrival was no coincidence.
Polly then dropped a bombshell: "Not only is the child not yours, but it's related to you. She was secretly involved with another man in your family!"
The revelation stunned everyone. Ralph was speechless, nearly collapsing until Aiden steadied him. Aiden, previously simmering with frustration, was overwhelmed by this unexpected turn of events.

"Regardless," Aiden said, "I didn't reveal this. She exposed the child's non-paternity first. Whether the child is alive is no longer relevant."
The group subtly eyed Aiden. They knew Yvonne wouldn't back down, believing him to be the father. Alexander, however, wasn't worried. A previous paternity test existed; if slandered, he could easily retest.
The room buzzed with discussion. The Burke family members helped restore order. Ralph, furious and embarrassed, retorted, "I compensated you during the divorce; why the fuss?"
The Quirk family was incredulous. Was this concern for reputation, or blindness to Yvonne's actions? Alexander understood Ralph's reaction; newly infertile, the discovery that his presumed child wasn't his was unacceptable. He subconsciously blamed Polly.
Yvonne, feeling guilty, anxiously looked at Aiden, seeking understanding. Aiden, however, felt a surge of schadenfreude and wished to roll his eyes at her.
Ignoring her, Yvonne felt wronged. "I know you despise me," she said to Polly, "but you can't use this to tarnish my and my child's innocence."
Polly presented the paternity test report, thrusting it before Ralph. Yvonne's face paled as Polly gloated.
