Chapter 373: Apologize to Sylvie

Carlos frowned at Penelope. "Drawing lots is a fair way to decide the order for the students. What are you doing? Do you usually bully your classmates like this?"

He was heartbroken. He knew Penelope was arrogant—a genius, after all—but he hadn't realized her behavior was so bad.

"No, it's not like that, I didn't" Penelope clearly didn't want Carlos to see her true self. Anxiously, she tried to explain, "I just wanted to go last. It wouldn't make a difference to Sylvie, considering her skill"

"Penelope!" Carlos interrupted coldly.

Penelope looked at him with an aggrieved expression—highly inappropriate for a student.

"I was just afraid you wouldn't come or be late," she explained, tears welling up. "I wanted to perform for you."

Carlos was stunned, suddenly uncomfortable.

Christopher and Rosalie exchanged suspicious glances before turning to Isabella. "Bella, what do you think?" Rosalie asked.

Isabella raised an eyebrow. "She doesn't seem to be lying."

It wasn't a lie. Penelope was delaying the performance for Carlos. The girl was truly infatuated with him.

After observing Penelope, Isabella's attention shifted to Sylvie, who stood quietly in the background. A closer look surprised her. Wow, she thought, Carlos's charm is really something.

Christopher and Rosalie noticed Isabella's glances and grew curious. Could it be?

It explained Sylvie's apparent distress. Sylvie also liked Carlos, secretly admiring him but feeling unworthy and unable to hope for more. Penelope had noticed and threatened to reveal Sylvie's feelings, scaring her into submission to avoid losing even the chance of occasional guidance from Carlos.

Christopher and Rosalie felt for Carlos. Being a teacher was tough when you unintentionally garnered the affections of your students. While student-teacher relationships weren't strictly forbidden at the university, this was excessive. The Quirk family genes were certainly potent.

Meanwhile, Penelope continued to feign innocence, claiming her own reasons for her actions.

Carlos, not wanting to prolong the situation, said, "Okay, apologize to Sylvie and get ready for your performance."

The remaining text is largely illegible and appears to be a jumbled collection of notes and possibly a different section of the story. It needs significant clarification before it can be cleaned up and incorporated.
