Chapter 379: Setting Off to Help
Seeing the pitiful young girl and unsure how much suffering she'd endure before awakening, Isabella had an idea. Smiling, she said, "Let's visit your school together. It's the top-ranked university, right? You can be our tour guide."
Evian and Rosalie instantly understood. The others, curious as they'd never been there, readily agreed. Janice, assuming it was a casual outing, readily agreed to find a day with fewer classes. Seeing the girl's exhaustion, they left her to rest.
Downstairs, Christopher asked, "Why so long? Is Janice alright?"
"We were chatting," Eula replied.
As Isabella sat down, Christopher, ever the gossip, chuckled. "Carlos rushed out. Think his student found him again?" While phrased as a question, David's family awaited Isabella's response.
Isabella's curiosity piqued. Before she could fully react, her expression shifted—from intrigue to shock.
"Holy crap, suicide threat… throwing herself at him naked…"
David's family: "Well, it seems Carlos got set up again."
Alexander mused that Carlos should have resisted.
"Goodness! Drugged and knocked down! Oh my! Can he be saved?" David's family was astonished. Alexander was confounded. They were about to spring into action when—
"Luckily, he escaped in time. Damn, he almost fell for it! This is melodrama! A rollercoaster!"
David's family: "A rollercoaster in our hearts! Is there any point in saving him? It's done!"
Alexander: "Who?"
"Is this fate? Is Carlos destined to lose his virginity tonight? If so, Sylvie's slightly better than Penelope."
While they were shocked, and others watched their strange silence, Alexander received a message. He checked it; his expression changed instantly.
"Carlos is in trouble and needs us," Alexander said, his tone serious. Everyone was immediately attentive.
The message, from Carlos, indicated he needed help and included an address. Sarah heard an ambulance siren outside. Someone could be dying, she surmised.
Normally, Sarah would have reacted first, but David's family acted before others recovered. However, numbers were limited due to the urgency. Alexander made the decision: He, Isabella, and Christopher, led by Sarah, would go; the others would wait for news.
Christopher drove incredibly fast.
Sarah finally reacted, turning to Alexander. "Shouldn't we call the police?"
Alexander calmly replied, "If he could call the police, he would have. He contacted me, suggesting a tricky situation needing discreet handling. A covert operation is best."
Isabella, excited, said, "Wow, Hubby's smart! Carlos, facing severe issues, instinctively sought help from the most capable person—you! Before losing consciousness, your contact must have been displayed, but he couldn't call. When Sylvie sought help, she tested you, judging you to be the person Carlos most wanted to turn to."
