Chapter 47: Are You Going to Hit Me?

Upon hearing Isabella's thoughts, the usually good-natured Selena and Evian were outraged. This time, there wasn't even time to inform the men at home. She immediately pulled Isabella along and headed straight to the university.

The moment they stepped out of the car at the school gate, Selena received a call from Rosalie, saving them the trouble of searching for her. Selena trembled, holding her phone. Her obedient and sensible daughter had suddenly become deceitful, seemingly a completely different person. Who could accept that?

Evian took the phone and put it on speakerphone, immediately piquing Isabella's curiosity. Isabella leaned in as Rosalie said, "Mom, were you looking for me?"

Rosalie's calm voice made Isabella think, Surprisingly calm; she seems deeply brainwashed. This version of Rosalie was even more unacceptable to her mother and sister.

"Who answered your phone?" Selena asked.

"A male classmate."

"Which one?"

"Mom, what are you doing?" Rosalie's voice held annoyance, as if tired of her mother's overbearing control. She was oblivious to the fact that Isabella had already exposed her.

"You…" Selena seethed.

"Rosie, where are you?" Evian asked.

"Evie? I'm at the university's art studio."

Isabella thought, Huh? Guilty? Lying? Maybe she's on a date with Dominic. Let me see…

Evian spoke coldly. "We're outside your school. Go to Professor Wilcox's office within ten minutes. We'll be waiting!"

"Evie!" Rosalie was flustered. Knowing Professor Wilcox was mentioned meant her secret was out. "How… how did you get here without telling me?"

"Aren't you guilty of not informing us?" Evian retorted sternly. "Be there in ten minutes."

She ended the call and guided Selena onto campus.

Isabella thought, I'm afraid she won't make it in ten minutes.

Evian suspected Rosalie was on a date, likely off-campus. The more she thought about it, the more disappointed she felt. Suddenly, she heard Isabella's thoughts: She's currently tidying up her rental place.

Evian and Selena stopped, exchanging disbelieving looks. It was likely Dominic's apartment. Usually, Rosalie would be in her studio, engrossed in her artwork.

Isabella thought, What is she doing? Is she out of her mind?

Evian and Selena thought, Isn't it obvious? Love has clouded her judgment.

However, they quickly realized they were naive. The situation was far more complicated.

Isabella thought, Rosalie didn't just get back together with Dominic; she's moved out of the dorm and is cohabitating with him!

The revelation stunned them. Selena's legs gave way.

"Mom!" Evian exclaimed, supporting her. Isabella quickly stepped forward to help.

Isabella thought, Who would have thought Rosalie's decision not to study abroad would hit Selena so hard? If she finds out Rosalie did it for that punk, and they're living together, she might have a fit and end up in the hospital!

Selena's voice trembled. "Go… go to Rosie's dorm and help her move out."

Isabella thought, Moving out of the dorm is a good decision. Selena sensed something was wrong. She needs to take Rosalie home and educate her properly.

Evian, pale with anger, gave her mother to Isabella and summoned their driver. They were determined to bring Rosalie home that day.

Later, Isabella accompanied Selena to meet Professor Wilcox, a middle-aged woman. Appreciating Rosalie's talent and the Quirk family's status, Professor Wilcox had contacted Selena to advise Rosalie against her irrational decision.

Professor Wilcox subtly inquired if Rosalie was in a relationship: "Ever since her last field study, she's been out of sorts. Lately, she hasn't been focusing on her paintings, her assignments are always delayed, and I've occasionally seen a boy picking her up… It's normal to date, but she can't let it jeopardize her future. She's a highly gifted artist."

Selena's face was ashen. "You're right. If this child has strayed, we will guide her back."

They were waiting for Rosalie, but Evian finished paperwork and arrived before Rosalie, panting heavily.

"Mom, Evie, Bella, Professor Wilcox," Rosalie greeted, but the expressions on their faces were far from pleasant.

Selena pointed to an application form. "You've met all the criteria. Fill this out now."

Rosalie's expression shifted. "Mom, I'm an adult. I choose my own path. I don't want to go."

Selena's anger turned to eerie calm. "So, you're willing to give up your dream for some punk?"

Rosalie's face paled. She heard Isabella's thoughts: Selena already guessed. A woman knows a man's sweet talk can shatter a woman's will.

Rosalie swallowed her words.

Evian said, "Rosie, I visited your dorm. It's dusty. You thought you could hide this? No wonder you haven't been home on weekends. We thought you were immersed in your work. You've disappointed us."

Rosalie's face turned ashen. Living with a man was a challenge; now exposed, she was terrified.

Isabella thought, When you reconciled, Dominic said your family would separate you, so he advised you to keep it secret. You chose a one-month boyfriend over your family of twenty years.

Rosalie was ashamed.

Selena and Evian looked gloomy.

"So, even after what happened, you still haven't come to your senses? You still believe we're making things difficult for you and that young hooligan?" Selena lamented.

"He isn't a hooligan. You have the wrong impression."

Rosalie's voice rose, and her mother's hand went up to strike. Evian intervened, preventing Selena from slapping her daughter.

"Mom, let's deal with this first. We can deal with Rosie at home."

Rosalie was taken aback, tears welling up. "Mom, are you going to hit me?"

She'd never seen her mother so furious.

Tears welled up in Selena's eyes. She wanted to knock some sense into her daughter. Why do I suddenly feel like I don’t recognize this daughter?

Professor Wilcox intervened. "Why don't we let Rosalie submit her application first? Tomorrow is the deadline."

Evian nudged Rosalie. "Go, don't make Mom angrier."

Rosalie stood firm, refusing to budge.
