Chapter 80: All That Is Needed Is to Forget

Selena and Rosalie anxiously watched Isabella after delivering the bombshell news. Isabella's thoughts immediately flooded their minds: amnesia! She had completely forgotten William!

Selena and Rosalie shared a look. Evian and the doctors were still investigating, but Bella, as always, had the gossip first. Isabella's own thoughts raced: how much hatred did it take to make her body forget everything about William? But wouldn't this leave her vulnerable to his manipulations? What if he begged for reconciliation?

Selena and Rosalie echoed her concerns. They wondered how William would react. The three women exchanged glances.

"I've never visited Evian's workplace," Isabella said.

Selena and Rosalie nodded in agreement.

"Shall we go together?" Isabella suggested.

They quickly prepared and journeyed to the hospital, calling Evian upon arrival. Initially apprehensive, they were greeted by Evian's excited announcement: "Come quickly! The Sawyer family"

The four women then proceeded to Jessica's hospital room, pretending to be visitors. William's pained, affectionate voice was audible from behind the door: "Jessica, you don't remember me? I'm your husband!" The quartet shuddered with worry.

However, Jessica's voice, bright and cautious, followed. She sounded like a college student among strangers.

"I don't recognize you, but I'm not a fool. You're Mr. and Mrs. Sawyer's son, my ex-husband. We were childhood sweethearts, but we're divorced. I have photos of the agreement and the ring is in the trash, so don't try to deceive me."

"It was an accident! We planned a fake divorce. I never thought"

"Enough. Regardless of your intentions, I trust my past judgment. If I chose to divorce you, it meant I no longer wanted you."

When Isabella and the others entered, Jessica's serious expression was striking. Despite the head bandage, her eyes shone brightly. She was no longer the same, and she didn't focus solely on William.

"Ah, Ms. Jeannet! I remember you. You helped me at the mall and I've seen you online. Thank you for your help with the play!" Jessica's smile was radiant. The play had eased her fear of memory loss.

Isabella smiled. "I heard you woke up, so I came to visit."

The Quirk family was astonished. Jessica was a completely different person—a seedling breaking through the soil, instead of a wilting flower. Isabella saw William kneeling, pleading desperately, his parents weeping nearby.

William was stunned when Jessica spoke to Isabella. The feeling of being ignored was unbearable.

"Jessica!" he cried, reaching for her hand. "Even if you've forgotten, you must feel something! You love me! I beg you, I can't live without you" He sobbed uncontrollably.

Jessica avoided his hand with disgust.

"Loved you for many years? I must have been blind! You cheated on me four years ago! Your disloyalty, your disrespect! I gave up my dreams for you! Did you bewitch me?"

Perhaps it was her genuine disdain that truly shocked him. Keanu and Aliya hesitantly spoke:

"He's thoughtless and clueless, but he truly loves you. He barely ate or drank while you were unconscious. He loves you deeply."

"We despise him too, but could you give him a chance? Since the bad memories are gone, let him care for you?"

The Quirk quartet was speechless. Fortunately, Jessica was clear-headed.

"Mr. and Mrs. Sawyer, he wronged me. You watched me grow up; you know I can't be with someone I don't love, especially after what he did. I can't even stand the sight of him. If he keeps appearing, I'll need another surgery!" She touched her bandaged head, feigning a headache. The quartet smiled.

"William, consider our past dead and buried. Let's part amicably. Mr. and Mrs. Sawyer, please take him away. I don't want disturbances."

William was barely standing. "Jessica! I realize my mistake! You're the only woman"

"Really?" Jessica raised an eyebrow, picked up her phone, and began to read aloud: "October 10th. I understand why William's been distant. He got drunk"

William's face paled. The quartet was disgusted.

"And you say I'm the only woman?" Jessica scoffed. "October 12th. I decided not to tell William I'm pregnant. I can't keep this baby. He doesn't deserve to be its father."

William was stunned. "A baby? We had a baby?"
