Chapter 270

Lance raised his hand and slapped two report cards into Davidโ€™s arms.

He said, โ€œSee for yourself!โ€

His face turned as dark as ink, and he was trembling with anger.

He originally hoped that the results of the retake would allow David to regain the upper hand and that the school could gloss over the incident on the internet by turning a blind eye.

After all, the university allowed popular professors who were known for helping their students achieve excellent results to have a first pick of students.

Other professors usually would not dare to object. However, things were out of their hands this time.

After getting into trouble constantly, Davidโ€™s students now went on a streak of underperforming. Lance did not know what David was thinking recently.

David swiftly turned over the transcript. Upon seeing it, he almost fainted on the spot.

He thought, โ€˜No. This is absolutely impossible.

โ€˜How could this happen? Why did this occur? Colbyโ€™s total score is as much as eleven points higher than Aidenโ€™s!

โ€˜On average, Colbyโ€™s score for each subject exceeds Aidenโ€™s by more than two points.

โ€˜How did this Colby suddenly become so good?

โ€˜No, thatโ€™s impossible. Colby shouldnโ€™t have improved. Aiden must have regressed.โ€™

David turned around and threw the report card toward Aiden.

โ€œSee for yourself!โ€ Davidโ€™s tone was hostile.

Unlike when Lance had tossed it to him, this time he hurled it with nearly all his strength, his face contorted with resentment.

Endless disappointment and anger made his finger tremble as he pointed at Aiden.

He asked, โ€œIs this the mistake you mentioned? Aiden, I am deeply disappointed in you!โ€

As soon as David finished speaking, Daisy hurried over and took the transcript from Aidenโ€™s hand. After a quick glance, a smile appeared on his face.

He said, โ€œWhen a student performs poorly in an examination, they are already emotionally vulnerable.

โ€œAs a teacher, rather than helping the student analyze the reasons and seek solutions, you choose to place blame. Such conduct is truly unworthy of an educator.

โ€œYour students are really pitiful. No one knows how much you have actually taught them, but whenever they do badly on exams, they are always to blame instead of you.

โ€œAfter all, youโ€™re the ace!โ€

When it came to snark, Josie had to hand it to Daisy.

She pursed her lips, forcing herself not to laugh.

She thought, โ€˜Does David berating Aiden count as a case of two scoundrels fighting each other?

โ€˜Anyway, none of them is any good!โ€™

โ€œIโ€™m sorry!โ€ Aidenโ€™s face turned as pale as paper. The moment he saw his grades, he was deeply embarrassed.

He had never paid any attention to Colby before, since he had always ranked outside the top ten.

However, Colby had unexpectedly defeated him twice in a row now.

Aiden thought, โ€˜Could it be that Colby has never given his full effort before? Is he now insisting on competing with me only because of Zoey?

โ€œThis is certainly the truth!โ€™

Aiden seemed to have found an excuse for himself and glared fiercely at Josie.

Since Zoey was not directly involved in the incident, she was not allowed to enter the Academic Affairs Office.

Aiden recalled the embarrassment Zoey had caused him at the end of the previous exam and the harsh slap Colby gave him.

Now, he was filled with hatred for Zoey. He believed that she was the source of all his misery.

If not for her, he would not have suffered two consecutive humiliations.

If not for her, Colby would not have insisted on competing with him for first place. He felt that it must have been Zoeyโ€™s fault.

Unable to find an outlet for his anger, he could only redirect his hatred for Zoey toward Josie.

After all, they were both the same. He felt that neither of them was a decent woman.

As he glared over again, Josie let out a light mocking remark. โ€œProfessor Hacker is right. Professor Lawson is not only the ace but also the face of our university.

โ€œEvery year, countless students choose our school specifically because of him.

โ€œHe has to do academic research and teach classes. Where would he find the time to keep a close eye on his studentsโ€™ studies?

โ€œTheyโ€™re graduate students, not elementary school kids. If their grades drop, of course, you canโ€™t blame the teacher!

โ€œItโ€™s definitely the studentโ€™s fault!โ€

The expressions of the few people present varied.

Colby pressed his lips together and said, โ€œJosie, your statement is both correct and incorrect.

โ€œI am an exception. I am not fond of studying, and I have recently started a business. Previously, I was not very attentive in my schoolwork.

โ€œIf it werenโ€™t for Professor Hackerโ€™s close supervision, I wouldnโ€™t have accidentally ended up as the top student in the grade.โ€

Daisy laughed noncommittally.
