Tripp was already utterly stunned, his gaze still fixed on the calculation formulas on the blackboard.
“Got it, professor!” He snapped back from Jeremy’s voice and asked Josie to leave.
They walked out of the lab together.
Tripp almost forgot why he came to find Josie. He asked, “The derivations of those formulas aren’t something one can write down quickly. How did you manage to write them all down in just a dozen seconds? What’s more, you’re self-taught. Without participating in our experiments, or even seeing the lab diaries, you could do it with just one set of experimental data…”
Tripp couldn’t believe it. “Josie, you’re amazing!”
He suddenly had a feeling that Ian might also have been tricked by Josie. Given the knowledge Josie possessed, she probably wouldn’t need a small project to enhance her resume. If she wanted to, she could prove herself at any time in many ways.
Josie smiled. “I’m not that amazing. Did you forget the software just now? I just have a good memory and memorized it!”
Tripp fell silent.
He thought, “Is that what it is?”
Tripp didn’t believe it.
“Alright, you don’t need to walk me any further. I’m going back to school. You can head back!” Josie waved at him.
Turning away, a trace of gloom flashed in her eyes. She hated that she had to use David’s reputation to convince Digby to believe her. She was still too weak. It would take a very long time for her to prove herself, and until then, David could always look down on her. The slightest mistake could undo all her efforts. Therefore, she couldn’t rush success. He thought, ‘Claire is about to graduate with her master’s, so it should be a time for her to gain work experience. She ought to be coming frequently!’
Josie blinked and said, “Claire passed her doctoral exam at the beginning of the year and is currently preparing her graduation thesis. I think she’ll be at the research institute soon. Here’s a bonus piece of news. Claire also has a dual degree. Her favorite major is clinical medicine, which is Professor Wilcourt’s specialty. Tripp’s face lit up. “Thanks! I’ll buy you nice food next time.”
“Don’t try to bribe me. I’m on Claire’s side!” Josie huffed and was about to turn and leave when she unexpectedly ran into Audrey and David. They were there to discuss the new project. David needed a top-tier research team that could generate commercial value in a short period. Only by making Brown Group profitable would his reputation soar. This way, he would attract more students, talent, and investments. He wanted to use Brown Group to crush Reedshaw Group. He couldn’t allow either the Reedshaw family or Reedshaw Medicine to surpass him.

Audrey asked, clearly displeased, “What are you doing here? You’re not a research institute intern. Don’t come to this place all the time.
