Josie patted Allison. โDonโt worry. He wonโt find out. Iโll go talk to Sean now and tell him not to spread it. Mr. Reedshaw definitely wonโt know then!โ
โThen hurry up and go, he absolutely canโt tell anyone!โ Allison whimpered, an imploring look on her face.
Allison, who was not particularly smart to begin with, seemed even sillier after falling in love. Josie felt both sorry for and amused by Allison, waving to her as she walked out of the dormitory.
Sean just told her he was downstairs. Josie ran a bit too fast, but she slowed her pace when she saw Sean at the dorm buildingโs entrance. Before she even got close, her face was already flushed. She hadnโt seen him in some time, and Josie really missed him. But she didnโt want to seem too eager.
Just as she was about to walk over with some restraint, she saw Sean open his arms to her. Josieโs heart swelled with joy, and a wide smile spread across her face. She couldnโt hold back anymore; her legs moved on their own, and she broke into a run. Like a joyful bird, she practically leapt into his arms.
Sean tightened his arms around her, pulling her into a tight embrace. โI missed you!โ he said.
โI missed you too!โ Josie buried her face in Seanโs chest and spoke in a muffled voice.
Sean chuckled softly in her ear, and it was clear he was in a good mood. โThatโs what Iโd like to hear!โ
โIโve always been great at saying things you like to hear!โ Josie grumbled softly.
Seanโs smile deepened, and he tightened his grip on her arm. Josieโs smile deepened as well.
The embrace didnโt last long. After all, they were at the entrance of the girlsโ dormitory, which was a bit conspicuous. Sean stepped back half a step, then reached out and took Josieโs hand. โMy Aunt asked me to take you back to the Reedshaw family. She already told you, right?โ
โShe mentioned it to me when classes ended and said to meet at the Reedshaw family tonight, but didnโt say why.โ Josie blinked. โCan you tell me?โ
Sean smiled faintly. โItโs probably because David and the others have been making a fuss recently. She was worried your mood would be affected. She just wants to cheer you up!โ
โI wonโt be affected by them!โ Josie blinked.
Sean turned to look at her. โAre you really not upset? Even though they got ahead by plagiarizing your papers?โ
โNo!โ Josie shook her head.
She thought, โWhy would I be unhappy? I was worried Natalie wouldnโt make enough of a stir or gain enough notoriety. After all, I have dug a huge trap for Natalie. It is a bottomless pit that she likely wouldnโt be able to climb out of if she fell in. The more attraction she gets now, the better. They say revenge is a dish best served cold. Natalie owes me more than one instance of plagiarism. Back then, I didnโt pursue it because I lacked conclusive evidence, but this time, it is different.โ
โWhat are you scheming in that little head of yours?โ Sean looked at her smiling eyes, finding it quite amusing.
Josie pouted. โIโm not scheming, I am planning. Since they have laid their hands on me, I have to show them what I am made of.โ She shook her fist, clearly stating that she was not to be trifled with.
This made Sean laugh the entire way. The two of them laughed and chatted the entire way, then got into the car parked by the roadside.
Once they were in the car, Sean composed himself and got down to business. โTell me, whatโs really going on between Allison and my uncle?โ
Josieโs brow furrowed slightly as she considered her previous suspicions. She said, โAllison said that Elliot fainted near the end of his workday, and he sought her out to silence her, forbidding her to mention the fainting incident. I feel thereโs more to this!โ
โWhat are you suspecting?โ Sean slightly furrowed his brow. Heโd been with Elliot almost every day recently, but hadnโt noticed anything unusual about him, nor had he seen Elliot taking medication.
