Chapter 389

Josie shook her head and said, "No, I don't.

โ€œI never waste time on insignificant people. Sheโ€™s not even worth me wasting any emotion, not even hatred.

โ€œAt most, I will ignore her. She is just like a complete stranger to me. If she bothers me, Iโ€™ll retaliate on the spot.

โ€œWhether in the past or in the future, I will settle the score for everything she did to me, but it will never be because of you, nor will I be your enforcer!โ€

Josie tilted her head slightly, her gaze falling on Vincentโ€™s face.

She said, โ€œCompared to Jaden, you actually didnโ€™t want to come to me. The reason youโ€™re here is simply because you have no other choice.

โ€œYou failed to go to graduate school, David kicked you out of the team, and youโ€™re unwilling to return to your hometown.

โ€œSo, you must find a place to stay that will allow you to get through the year and retake the exam.

โ€œYou came to me simply to treat me like a fool, to have me provide you with an easy way to join the team, and to get a salary to temporarily support yourself.

โ€œOnce you find an opportunity, youโ€™ll leave immediately, wonโ€™t you?โ€

Josie didnโ€™t expect him to answer.

She continued, โ€œUltimately, you still think Iโ€™m easy to bully, easy to manipulate, softโ€“hearted, and foolish, allowing you to come and go freely and do as you please.

โ€œBut what makes you think Iโ€™m still the person I used to be, that Iโ€™m still so easy to manipulate and bully?

โ€œIs it just because I donโ€™t have a strong family background like Natalie?โ€

Vincent and Jaden looked at each other sheepishly.

โ€œNo!โ€ Jaden said angrily, โ€œWe didnโ€™t think that way. We truly want to help you!โ€

โ€œHow dare someone useless like you offer to help me?โ€ Josie said rudely, โ€œIf your father hadnโ€™t donated money to the school, would you have even been admitted?

โ€œEven with all sorts of bonus points, you barely made the admission cutoff. With grades like that, donโ€™t you know where you stand?

โ€œAnd you, Vincent. Seemingly from a humble background and working hard, you also want a shortcut, donโ€™t you? Seeing how much I have accomplished now, are you going crazy with jealousy?โ€

Josie laughed out loud. โ€œYou should give up. Thereโ€™s no way Iโ€™ll let you join my team. However, considering what you did to me in the past, I donโ€™t mind showing you a way out!โ€

Josie leaned closer and lowered her voice. โ€œSince Natalie is the one who caused you to fall to this point, why donโ€™t you go find her?

โ€œDonโ€™t be afraid. She would never dare let her mother know about the things she did.

โ€œYou just need to threaten her with this, and sheโ€™ll definitely help you get into the research institute.โ€

Ivy didnโ€™t understand. โ€œJosie, they shamelessly plotted against you. Why are you still helping them?

โ€œIf they really enter the research institute, wouldnโ€™t they become your competitors?

โ€œI heard that Davidโ€™s research cooperation project is competing with Professor Wilcourtโ€™s project.โ€

It had been a while since the incident, but Josie still felt as disgusted as if sheโ€™d swallowed a fly.

What she wanted was not to scold them or punch them a couple of times, much less for them to regret and apologize to her, or even beg her.

What she wanted was to send them to prison. She felt that this was the ultimate destination for scums like them.

However, they were still students at the moment. Whatever they did was only considered moral flaws, not enough to make them commit crimes.

Unless they, like Kyle, failed to maintain their moral bottom line, succumbed to Natalieโ€™s instigation, and ultimately walked down the path of crime.
