Chapter 398

โ€œHis teaching method of judging people by appearance and basing ability on family background is wrong. I donโ€™t want more students to suffer unfair treatment!โ€

A trace of sadness flickered across Josieโ€™s still-smiling face. โ€œDo you think Iโ€™m overestimating myself?โ€

โ€œNo!โ€ Seaneโ€™s expression grew serious. โ€œYou are very brave and resilient. You know what you want and strive for it. Thatโ€™s remarkable.โ€

Josie smiled again. โ€œI will work even harder and strive towards my dream!โ€

โ€œWhatโ€™s your dream?โ€ Seane squeezed her hand. โ€œCan you tell me?โ€

Josie hesitated slightly, seeming unsure of how to put it.

He said, โ€œItโ€™s okay if you donโ€™t want to say it. Iโ€™ll be with you every step of the way on your journey, and Iโ€™ll know when you achieve your dream.โ€

Seane held her hand and kissed it. โ€œLetโ€™s go home. You promised the afternoon was all mine!โ€

It was already evening when they returned home. Seane placed a cake on the table. โ€œIโ€™ll cook. You go change and take a shower!โ€

โ€œLetโ€™s do it together!โ€ Josie carried the groceries into the kitchen.

Sean stiffened slightly, a knowing smile rising in his eyes. He reached out, took hold of Josie, and removed the groceries from her hand.

He said, โ€œWe have more important things to do together soon, so I wonโ€™t bother you with cooking!โ€

He leaned his head close to her ear. โ€œGo take a shower. Be good.โ€

For some reason, Josie found his words very suggestive.

She had thought about what might happen if they lived together, but yesterday she drank too much and simply followed him back in a haze.

Today, she was preoccupied with other matters and hadnโ€™t had a chance to truly think it through.

Now, suddenly realizing that their relationship would progress further, Josieโ€™s shoulders trembled slightly, and she felt a pang of subconscious panic.

โ€œWhatโ€™s wrong?โ€ Sean felt a hint of suspicion.

Josieโ€™s face paled slightly. She turned and ran back into the room. โ€œItโ€™s nothing. Iโ€™m going to take a shower!โ€ Watching her fleeing figure, Sean simply thought she was shy and didnโ€™t give it much thought.

As night fell, he carried her into the room, gently unbuttoned her clothes, and saw a long scar on her body, extending from her chest all the way to her abdomen.

She said, โ€œIโ€™m so sorry. I know Iโ€™m ugly. I wish I werenโ€™t like this. You are such a wonderful person, and I wanted to give you the best of everything, but Iโ€ฆโ€

Her face was pale, as if she were desperately enduring something.

Her whole body trembled slightly, and she seemed very scared, clutching the bedsheet tightly beside her.

She seemed to be trying hard to stop herself from pushing him away.

Sean thought, โ€˜She loves me, so she is willing to give all of her to me. Her fear about sex must be related to the scar on her body. She is blaming herself and hoping I wouldnโ€™t despise her. She is terrified of this situation, yet yearns for intimacy with me.โ€™

Sean felt nothing but heartache and distress. Every word about love in this world cycled through his mind.

He lowered his head and kissed her scar. โ€œItโ€™s not ugly. You are beautiful no matter what. It just breaks my heart to see you like this, Jojo.โ€

He raised his hand and caressed her scar. โ€œJojo, you are the best. I love everything about you. Donโ€™t be afraid, I will never hurt you!โ€

Sean embraced her with all his tenderness, his palm against hers, their fingers intertwined, as he lowered his head and kissed her scar inch by inch.

As time passed, Josie relaxed. Though it hurt, it was ultimately her choice.

Afterward, Sean held her, his fingers tracing the scar back and forth. โ€œCan you tell me about it?โ€
