Chapter 413

It was truly no exaggeration to say that everyone had sharp eyes.

Josie didnโ€™t even need to do anything. She only needed to mention Davidโ€™s itinerary for the past few days, then people would deduce that David was lying.

Subsequently, more unexpected comments spread online.

A person wrote that when Natalieโ€™s third paper was published, David had helped forward and recommend it.

Although he quickly deleted the recommendation post, someone still took a screenshot of it.

This indirectly confirmed that David was aware of Natalieโ€™s papers.

Less than two hours after the live broadcast ended, Davidโ€™s interview could no longer be found online.

Anna felt immensely satisfied and even called Josie specifically to thank her.

She said that if there were any tasks like exposing jerks in the future, they should just come to her.

It was incredibly satisfying, and she could even take down her competitors. It was simply exhilarating.

Josie found it both amusing and exasperating.

She didnโ€™t share Annaโ€™s optimistic outlook, believing that with Davidโ€™s long-standing reputation, he wouldnโ€™t be defeated so quickly.

Sure enough, by evening, public opinion online began to shift because of a police report and footage of Aiden and David being taken to the hospital together.

The news mentioned that after David learned Natalieโ€™s paper was flawed, he immediately contacted her to confirm if she was indeed the author.

Natalie denied it but could not provide further experimental data, so she finally had to confess, which then implicated Aiden.

A conflict arose when they went to find Aiden. Aiden revealed that the paper had been shown to Josie before it was handed to Natalie.

Natalie believed Aiden, along with Josie, had set a trap for her and were deliberately trying to get her into trouble, so she hit Aiden.

Afterward, Aiden called the police, Natalie was arrested, and David was also injured while trying to break up the fight.

David issued a lengthy apology to the public, admitting he played a role in the publication process of Natalieโ€™s thesis and that he failed to supervise effectively, not discovering her paper was fraudulent.

To take responsibility for the impact, he decided to resign from his position as a university professor.

Afterwards, Davidโ€™s supporters began to lash out.

Some cursed Natalie as an idiot, saying she had no ability, yet wanted to gain fame using Aidenโ€™s thesis. Her lack of integrity and intelligence even resulted in dragging David down.

They also said this was Natalieโ€™s problem, that she wanted to climb the ladder and used her teammate.

However, she only failed because her teammate was also not a good person and actually plotted against her.

People claimed that none of this had anything to do with David, who was a good professor.

He was just too busy and failed to supervise.

Even if he knew about Natalie publishing the thesis, he was deceived by her.

Some people cursed Aiden and Josie, saying the two were probably involved in unspeakable deeds. The fact that they conspired against Natalie was truly despicable.

Others cursed Josie as shameless, bringing up past incidents where her team members had problems.

They said that she was simply upset about leaving Davidโ€™s team, which was why she caused trouble for them.

Those people believed that she must have done something discreditable since members of Davidโ€™s team kept getting in trouble.

They also said that if she were truly capable, she would have achieved something by now.

The fundamental reason for all these incidents was to discredit David and force this knowledgeable and accomplished professor to step down.

People felt that Josie was a despicable person, and it was unfortunate for David to cross paths with her.

Seeing these comments, Josie was so angered that she laughed. The public might be blind, but David was detestable. He seemingly was not involved in this mess.
