Chapter 68
If it weren't for trying to attract theft, Lansa couldn't have changed like that. That version of Loma was truly stunning. If she had been like that on the team before, they would have pampered her instead of making her work so hard. After all, attractive young women were always so easy to like.
Trevor sighed. “A woman dresses up for someone she likes. It just means that none of us have caught her eye, so she doesn’t bother dressing up around us.” Lama did look beautiful all dressed up. Though she seemed thinner and a bit pale, her eyes were bright, and her features appeared more delicate and refined.
Even Trevor, who frequented bars and had dated a few times, couldn’t help but glance at her a couple more times.
“What do you mean, ‘A woman dresses up for someone she likes’? Trevor, who are you guys talking about?” Mia walked over from the other side, placing her tray of food on the table.
Wyatt frowned and glanced at her. “When did you get here?”
“Just now; I saw a crowd gathering over here, but by the time I got close, everyone had already left. What happened?” Mia asked curiously.
Ethan quickly waved his hand. “Nothing. Just some gossip. You’re just a freshman. Don’t be so nosy. Focus on your meal and your studies.”
“Exactly. Eat up. You have class this afternoon.” Trevor transferred some meat from his plate to Mia’s. He was eager to stifle her curiosity and avoid any further questions.
Wyatt wasn’t in a good mood and shot Mia an irritated glance. “Have you prepared the documents I requested? We need them for the group discussion this…”
“They’re all done. Don’t worry, Wyatt. There’s no way it’ll go wrong.” Mia beamed, patting her chest in a confident little gesture. Her smile was bright and cheerful, but for some reason, in that moment, an image of Luna suddenly flashed through Wyatt’s mind.
They were completely different. Luna always had this quiet, distant air about her. When she did smile, however rarely, it left a lasting impression.
“Wyatt, what’s wrong? Did I mess something up? Why are you upset?” Mia tugged gently at his sleeve cautiously. She gave his sleeve a coquettish shake, her voice soft like she was trying to coax him. Not many people could resist that kind of charm.
Wyatt looked into her innocent eyes and noticed her worry. She was concerned he was upset with her. He found pleasure in this. Women like Mia were just easier to like. She was good at acting cute, obedient, well-behaved, and having a sweet smile. Just being around her was pleasant.
Luna used to have at least two good qualities, but now, she had none. It was no surprise Wyatt couldn’t stand her anymore. Rhett wasn’t a good guy. Wyatt didn’t believe for a second that someone like Luna could possibly have it easy with him. He was just waiting for the day Luna would return to beg for his forgiveness.
“I’m not upset! Just eat your lunch,” Wyatt said, raising his hand and giving Mia a light tap on the head.
Seeing Wyatt’s mood shift back to normal, Mia felt more relieved. In fact, she’d seen and heard everything just now. She was utterly taken aback. It was one thing for Luna to humiliate Russell, but now, she was also openly confronting Wyatt. Maybe she only hated him now because she used to love him too much.
Wyatt was practically born to be admired. Mia was convinced Luna was just being stubborn and playing hard to… There was no way Luna didn’t like Wyatt. A guy like Wyatt… get to catch his attention.
And then there was that Jade, the campus belle? Mia was clearly prettier than Jade. There was no way Wyatt would ever fall for someone like her. So many women were eyeing Wyatt. It was seriously annoying. Mia would just deal with them one by one.
Lama and her group left the cafeteria. “Jade, you saw it, right? Wyatt’s not as good as he seems. Maybe you should find someone else to like…”
