Chapter 82

What a brainless brute! Did Kevin really think he was invincible? He was thoroughly useless. How did he even get into the team? Mia suddenly remembered Kevin only got into graduate school and stayed on Wilson’s team thanks to the study plans and prep materials Lima prepared for him.

Luna was an idiot. She had been doing unappreciated work, thinking she was helping a group of kind people. Little did she know that those people were now siding with Mia without hesitation. M would make her pay once all the online mess was over.

Luma called Jade back just as she was about to leave the dorm. “I think there’s no need to look it up anymore. I know who posted the threads!”

“Who?” The others immediately turned around and walked toward her curiously.

Lama picked up her phone. “It was Evan and Rhett. They’re at the Student Affairs Office right now. They want me to head over.”

She didn’t have time to explain in detail. “I’ll fill you in when I’m back.”

“I’m coming with you.” Jade grabbed her bag and followed.

Luna scrolled through last night’s message from Rhett, her head down, and glanced at Jade. “Don’t you have any class this morning?”

“I do,” Jade checked the time. “I’ve got an elective course at 10:00 am. It’s still early. I’ll go first.”

Luna nodded and said, “Evan sent you a message last night after he tracked down the people behind those posts. You probably didn’t see it, so he forwarded the information to Rhett.”

“Rhett and Suzi had discussed it before they went ahead and posted the exposé and analysis threads with the comparison posts we made. He told me in our group chat. I went to bed too early last night and slept like a log. I had completely missed his message!”

Jade pulled out her phone and found Evan’s message. He had sent it at midnight. By then, she was already sound asleep. There was no way she could reply to him at that hour.

“Well, maybe it’s a good thing. We’d have had to find someone else to do it today if they hadn’t posted it last night. It might not even have gained this much traction.”

Jade quickly sent Evan a thank-you message before looking up at Lana. “Honestly, Lana, you’re really lucky. Suzie and Rhett are so much better than your previous team members. They don’t order you around, and they genuinely have your back.”

“Other than the fact that the major’s a bit niche, everything else is great. The atmosphere alone in the lab these past few days makes me want to switch! I’d consider picking up acupuncture as an elective course if I had the energy for it.”

Luna agreed with her, “That’d be great. I wouldn’t be alone now when I’m obsessing over coursework at midnight.”

“Oh, quit dreaming!” Jade rolled her eyes playfully and headed up the stairs first.

When the two of them arrived at the entrance of the Student Affairs Office successively, they found not only Rhett and Suzie there, but also Evan and Erin.

Lora ran up toward them. “Professor Wilder, Suzie, you’re here, too! Thank you so much. I really appreciate it!”

“Don’t be silly. I’m only here because that thesis really was yours and really was plagiarized!” Suzie lifted her chin toward the office to gesture for them to look.

Luna lifted her head and glanced over. She immediately saw Willson saying something to the director of the Student Affairs Office.

Wilson strode out when he noticed her at the door. “Luna, get in here and explain everything clearly to the director. Tell him that Mia didn’t plagiarize your thesis, she didn’t insult you online, and all that online nonsense has nothing to do with her!”
