Trevor smiled lightly. “I thought it was something serious, but it’s just a thesis revision. Send me the soft copy, and I’ll help you revise it. There’s no way we’re letting them get ahead of us. We can’t lose our dignity like that!”
“Thanks, Trevor,” Mia’s heart skipped a beat. She stepped forward, wrapped her arms around Trevor’s, and rubbed her soft cheek against his arm. “Trevor, have you been looking for some study materials lately? I’ll buy them for you as a gift.”
Trevor felt a tingle run through his arms. Before he could snap out of it, Mia’s offer gave him the feeling that luck was on his side. He cleared his throat, putting on a serious expression. “I’ve been eyeing a more authoritative set of materials, but it’s quite expensive. I’ll try to figure out how to get it myself…”
“Don’t worry about the cost,” Mia’s smile widened as she winked at him. “I’ll buy it for you. You’re such a great senior, so I’m happy to do this for you.”
Trevor felt his heart soar, floating with delight. Mia was thoughtful, unlike Luna, who kept track of every penny and even demanded reimbursements—it was ridiculous! Not only could he help revise Mia’s thesis, but he’d essentially written it for her, as long as she was generous enough to offer him money. Trevor seemed to have found a new way to make money.
When Wyatt passed on Wilson’s message to Mia, she had already received the revised thesis from Trevor. She was glad she had thought ahead. Otherwise, she might not have been able to meet Wilson’s expectations.
“I understand, Wyatt. I’ll send the thesis to Professor Hanley later.” She bit her lip while looking at Wyatt with some guilt. “Wyatt, have I caused trouble for you? I didn’t expect things to go like this. I’m really sorry. It’s all my fault!”
At first, Wyatt had doubts about Mia, but seeing how quickly she agreed to revise the thesis and apologized so earnestly, his suspicions started to fade.
“Don’t overthink it. Focus on your studies and get ready for the competition. This was an accident. Next time, you need to beat Luna, and she won’t be able to attack you again. Got it?”
Mia nodded earnestly. “Got it, Wyatt. I’ll listen to you and study hard. I’ll do my best!” A sense of comfort washed over him.
She looked fragile and pitiful, with a hint of tears in her eyes as she encouraged herself. Her appearance stirred both sympathy and a slight flutter in Wyatt’s heart—a feeling he had never experienced before…
“Alright. Go revise your thesis quickly.” Wyatt wasn’t fond of this feeling. He had always put academics first and wasn’t interested in women. He wouldn’t allow anyone to shake his focus.
