Listen to this chapter:

Her lone was annoyance. Annoyance flared in Suzanne’s chest as she tried to free herself from his grasp. His tone was cold and sharp. “Mr. Lambert, please leave me alone.”

Just then, Seline, who had chased after Jenson, caught up and saw the scene unfolding. She stomped her foot in frustration and shouted, “Jenson!”

But before she could say anything more, Jenson shot her a cold, warning glare. The sheer intensity of it made her freeze, her breath hitching. She didn’t dare utter another word. Seline knew Jenson well enough to understand that pushing him now would only backfire. Seeing him holding Suzanne’s hand made her blood boil. Her eyes burned with rage as she glared at Suzanne.

All that bitch knew was to seduce Jenson. The fury simmering in Seline’s chest was unbearable, but there was nothing she could do about it.

Jenson turned his attention back to Suzanne and softened his tone as he said, “Suzanne, just give me ten minutes. That’s all I’m asking. I only want to talk to you. Nothing else.”

He waited patiently for her response. He had spoken calmly, but his hand still held her wrist firmly, showing no intention of letting go.

Suzanne’s irritation grew. Unable to free herself, her tone turned colder. “Mr. Lambert, we’re done. Since you’re already with Seline, I suggest you stay faithful to her and stop cheating.”

Jenson’s brows furrowed slightly, a flicker of displeasure crossing his face, though he masked it quickly. His voice remained gentle as he replied, “Suzanne, there’s nothing between me and Seline.”

Seline froze. That wasn’t what Jenson said when they were sleeping together. Her eyes blazed with anger as she glared at Suzanne, her fists clenching tightly at her sides. This was all Suzanne’s fault. Even after breaking up with Jenson, she was still finding ways to steal his attention.

Shane finally had enough. He stepped forward and shoved Jenson’s hand away with enough force to make him stumble slightly. His tone was ice-cold as he said, “What kind of grown man grabs someone in public like this? Have some decency.”

Jenson steadied himself, his eyes narrowing as he fixed Shane with a frosty glare. But before he could say anything, Shane casually adjusted his sleeves, looking utterly unbothered as he added, “So, what do you want to talk about? That your cheating wasn’t real? Or that you’re hoping to get back together with her?”

Suzanne’s lips twitched into a faint smirk. Shane really was her best ally.

“Shane, this is between me and Suzanne. Out of respect for her, I won’t stoop to your level.”

Shane’s face immediately twisted with disdain. “Oh, really? Go ahead. Let’s see how you ‘stoop to my level.’ Do you think the whole world revolves around you? Who do you think you are?”

Shane’s mouth ran like a firecracker, tearing into Jenson without hesitation. If they weren’t in public, he would’ve already flattened Jenson to the ground. Seriously! He had seen shameless people before, but never anyone with skin this thick.

Jenson’s composure finally cracked. Though his sunglasses and mask hid his face from the bystanders, the tension was evident as he gritted his teeth and hissed, “Shane, this is your last warning. Stay out of my business with Suzanne!”

Shane, with his fiery temper, snapped instantly. He rolled up his sleeves and stood protectively in front of Suzanne, glaring at Jenson with his hands on his hips. “Oh, really? Well, guess what? I’m getting involved. What are you gonna do about it?”

He took another step forward, his stance bold. “Come on, I’d love to see what you think you can do.”

Jenson’s temples throbbed, and the vein on his forehead looked ready to burst. Just as he opened his mouth to retort, Suzanne stepped out from behind Shane, cutting through their argument with a sharp, commanding voice, “Enough!”

Her icy gaze locked onto Jenson as she warned, “Jenson, if you don’t want your precious voice as an award-winning actor to be ruined, then stop bothering me!”

“You…” Jenson choked. He couldn’t believe Suzanne dared to threaten him. Suzanne was above this sort of behavior, but she stood defiantly before him, exuding a cold demeanor. Jenson swallowed, unable to find the words. For the first time, he couldn’t read her. In the past, he’d known her lies and could predict her next move. But now, he wasn’t so sure. Maybe Suzanne didn’t love him anymore. His expression betrayed him, exposing the things he had done to the public. The few bystanders who had noticed their altercation were now glancing in their direction, their faces a mixture of curiosity and apprehension.

Suddenly, Jenson didn’t know what to do. He watched as Suzanne and Shane walked away. Meanwhile, Seline, seeing Suzanne walk away victorious, felt her world coil around her. She clung to Jenson’s arm, her expression a mix of hurt and desperation. “Jenson, how could she… that heartless woman!”

Jenson pursed his lips, his gaze staying fixed on Suzanne’s retreating figure. Seline’s heart sank. She had worked so hard to win him back, and now he seemed ready to go back to Suzanne. Tears welled up in her eyes, but she tried to maintain composure. But Jenson still didn’t respond. His gaze remained fixed on Suzanne’s retreating form.

Seline felt like she was going insane. The realization that Jenson was possibly going back to Suzanne filled her with unbearable jealousy. “Jenson!” she cried out again, louder this time. Finally, he pulled his eyes away from the distance. Before Seline could speak, his phone buzzed in his pocket. Seline bit back her frustration. The person calling had obviously planned this.

Jenson ignored her completely. He pulled out his phone and the moment he saw the number, his expression shifted subtly. A flicker of hesitation crossed his eyes. Why was this happening now?
