Chapter 142

Suzanne, even as a miracle doctor, still fell for Seline's trap. Seline clamped down on Suzanne's arm, her nails digging in viciously, nearly breaking the skin. She let out a cold laugh, her voice dripping with menace. “Suzanne, you’d better walk in there yourself, or I’ll strip you naked and toss you into the lobby downstairs.”

Wouldn’t that be a sight? She would get infected with something nasty and be ruined for good. Then Suzanne would be nothing but trash, someone everyone looked down on, someone who could never rise again.

A chill ran down Suzanne's spine. She had always known Seline was cruel, but this was beyond anything she had imagined. This was her own sister. Was there not even a shred of sisterhood left between them? Her body was drained of all strength, and she could barely push Seline away.

Struggling to stay upright, she gasped for breath and clenched her teeth. “Seline, if you dare to lay a finger on me, I swear, I’ll make you and your mother pay!” The veins in her forehead bulged with the effort.

Seline burst into laughter. “You? Make me pay? You’re in no position to threaten anyone.”

Right now, Suzanne was powerless and completely at Seline’s mercy. Seline felt no fear; if anything, excitement flickered in her eyes. Finally, Suzanne was about to be dealt with. Without another word, Seline yanked her by the arm and dragged her back into the room.

Suzanne felt despair creep in. This time, Seline would make sure she couldn't escape. And Austin—she hadn’t even managed to send him the address. Even if he was on his way, how long would it take him to find her? Was this really how it was going to end?

As soon as they reentered the room, Seline's expression twisted in shock. Todd was sprawled on the floor, completely still. The gash on his forehead was obvious, blood still trickling down from the wound. Her face turned pale.

She spun to face Suzanne, furious. “Are you out of your damn mind?” Suzanne was still trying to fight back when Seline slapped her hard across the face. The impact sent her straight to the floor. Seline immediately rushed to Todd's side, crouching down. “Mr. Lloyd?” But he wasn’t responding.

Hands trembling, she hesitated before placing her fingers under his nose. When she noticed he was still breathing, relief flooded her. She shook him gently while calling out, “Mr. Lloyd? Wake up!”

She had no time to think. She grabbed her phone and dialed. The moment the line connected, she blurted out in a panic, “Mom, get a doctor over here right now! We have a problem!”

Todd regained consciousness after an hour, his head now wrapped in bandages. He winced as he pressed his hand to the throbbing spot on his forehead. Suzanne had actually knocked him out. He had toyed with women for years, but never had one fought back like this.

The doctor had already finished treating him and left. Meanwhile, Suzanne was tied up on the bed, completely restrained. She was unable to resist anymore. Seline, Henry, and Mandy all stood nearby, wearing stiff smiles. It was obvious they were joyous.

Todd’s gaze darkened as he glared at them. His tone was cold and cutting. “You people are useless. You can’t even manage a simple drugging, right?” The faces of the Yates family fell. Seline flinched, too afraid to meet his eyes, but she forced herself to say, “I’m so sorry, Mr. Lloyd. It was our mistake.”

All she wanted now was to get rid of Suzanne and get the hell out of there. But Todd’s gaze suddenly shifted to her. His tongue pressed against his molars, and something predatory flickered in his eyes. Now, this one would be pretty fun in bed, too.

Mandy quickly stepped in, her voice laced with embarrassment. “Mr. Lloyd, we sincerely apologize. It won’t happen again.”

Todd let out a low growl of frustration, then glanced at Suzanne, who was still tied up on the bed. His fingers twitched. Damn, she was a beauty. The fire inside him flared back up. “Enough. Get the hell out,” he snapped.

Henry hesitated for a split second. Even now, all he could think about was this. But he wasn’t about to question it. Forcing a smile, he nodded quickly. “Of course. We’ll leave you to it.”

Not daring to waste another second, the Yates family quickly turned and hurried out the door. The moment it clicked shut behind them, their expressions darkened. Henry’s voice turned icy. “Get two bodyguards to stand watch.”

“Got it. I’ll take care of it right now.” Mandy pulled out her phone immediately. Henry let out a cold scoff before striding away. Seline’s eyes narrowed, a cruel smirk tugging at her lips. They were determined not to let Suzanne walk out of the room.
