How could Suzanne call out that amount? Even Christine was shocked to hear that figure, and she couldn’t help but take a couple of steps back. She looked at Seline and tugged on the hem of her clothes, whispering, “0.5 million dollars? It’s not worth it, Seline. Why don’t we just let this go?”

Seline gripped her handbag even tighter. Her hand squeezed it so hard that her knuckles had started to turn white. No! She absolutely couldn’t lose to Suzanne, that bitch!

Seline raised her head. Her gaze toward Suzanne was filled with determination as she shouted, “16 million dollars!”

She could tell that Suzanne was at her limit. She definitely had no money left to bid, so 16 million dollars would absolutely secure Seline’s win.

The crowd was stunned once more. They never expected Seline to raise the bid. Their gazes toward her changed. Some people were filled with envy while others even looked at her with awe. She really was a wealthy person!

“This Ms. Yates is quite impressive!!!”

“Right! The Yateses are a rich and powerful family. What’s this amount of money to them?”

As the chatter echoed through the air, Seline looked at Suzanne with an arrogant expression. Suzanne curved her lips into a smile and withdrew her hand from the glass countertop. With a hint of helplessness, she said, “Alright. I don’t have as much money as you, so you can have it!”

However, she didn’t feel defeated at all. In fact, she wore a victorious smile. All of Seline’s smugness froze on her face in an instant. No, something wasn’t right! She had gotten too carried away just now. Suzanne had no money to begin with!

That bitch was only provoking her when she called out the 10.5-million-dollar bid! Still, she hadn’t thought much of it then. She just didn’t want Suzanne to dominate over her, but now…

Meanwhile, Christine hadn’t even heard the gossip. Instead, she was grinning happily as she linked arms with Seline and exclaimed with admiration, “Wow! Seline, you’re amazing!”

She shot a disdainful glare at the “defeated” Suzanne, saying, “I told you, Suzanne doesn’t have any money! She was just trying to compete with you. What qualifications does she have?”

Seline was upset. Did Christine have a brain? How could she still bring that up?

However, Suzanne stepped forward and smiled at the two of them, openly admitting, “I really don’t have 16 million dollars. I can’t afford it.”

At first, the emerald bracelet did catch her eye, but after looking at it longer, she noticed its imperfections. Just as she was about to return it to Isla, these two showed up. Thus, it wasn’t her fault.

Seline was about to go crazy! She wanted to slap Suzanne’s stubborn face, but they were in public, so she had to force herself to be generous on the surface.

Suzanne approached Seline and kindly invited her, “I’m going to check out the other counters. Would you like to join me? If you enjoyed that game, why don’t we try bidding again?”

The sales associates at the nearby counters immediately perked up, seeming almost ready to rush out.

Seline gritted her teeth in frustration, “Suzanne!”

With a smile in her eyes, Suzanne patted Seline on the shoulder. “My dear sister, don’t forget to pay, okay? You’re the daughter of the Yates family. Everyone knows who you are. If you don’t buy the bracelet, you might end up embarrassing Dad.”

Seline screamed inwardly with rage. She was about to explode with anger because of this bitch!
