Chapter 33

Suzanne’s expression froze momentarily. Was Austin’s mother really this approachable? She instantly felt more at ease. Suzanne quickly regained her composure before respectfully greeting, “Hello, Mrs. Hall.”

Felicia frowned. “Mrs. Hall? You’ve already registered your marriage, so why haven’t you changed how you address me?”

Suzanne’s face immediately flushed red. Austin smiled lightly and bent down slightly to look at her. “Greet her.”

Suzanne’s expression stiffened, and under Felicia’s expectant gaze, she softly said, “Mom.”

“Yes!” Felicia immediately responded with a beaming smile.

Suzanne presented Felicia with the gift she had prepared, holding it carefully in her hands. “This is a gift I prepared for you. I hope you like it.”

Since it was her first time meeting her in-laws, Suzanne naturally spoke formally. Felicia took the gift from her with a delighted expression, saying, “You’re so thoughtful! You even prepared a gift. I’m already happy you came over.” She smiled as she patted the spot next to her. “Come, sit beside me.”

When she looked at her daughter-in-law, Felicia felt more and more fond of her. She was truly elegant and stunning. Suzanne smiled and walked to sit beside Felicia.

Telicia reined in her emotions and turned to glare at Austin, who was still standing nearby. “Why are you standing there like a fool? Go to my room and take out the things from the cabinet.”

Austin said nothing, his expression remaining indifferent as he turned and walked to Felicia’s room. Even Austin, who was the elite “Mr. Hall” in public, was treated like a child before Felicia. Suzanne couldn’t help but laugh softly.

Felicia took Suzanne’s hand in hers, gently parting the back of it. She said warmly, “Suzanne, if that beat ever bullies you, you must definitely tell me. I’ll help you teach him a lesson.”

After so many years, the day had come when her son finally brought back her daughter-in-law. The more she looked at Suzanne, the more she liked her. Suzanne hadn’t expected Felicia to be so easygoing and have such a gentle personality. She was not at all pretentious.

Even though Austin had previously told her that his mother was easy to get along with, she hadn’t believed him and just thought he was trying to reassure her. But it seemed like he hadn’t been lying.

Suzanne shook her head at Felicia. “He’s very good to me. He doesn’t mistreat me.” Though they had only been married for a short time, they had quite a comfortable relationship. Others often said how Austin was hard to deal with, but Suzanne found him to be a good person. He just had a cold appearance on the outside.

When Felicia heard Suzanne defending Austin, she couldn’t help but be even more pleased. Her daughter-in-law really wasn’t bad at all! She smiled at Suzanne and said gently, “Oh, you two, just registering your marriage isn’t enough. When are you planning to have the wedding?”

She had been preparing for Austin to get married, but she had done so for a very long time. Suzanne’s face reddened slightly, and she felt somewhat embarrassed. She really hadn’t thought about this matter before. After all, she knew very well that her marriage with Austin was merely symbolic.

When Felicia saw that Suzanne only smiled and said nothing, she assumed it was because she was shy. She continued with a smile, “You should decide soon. Then, we can start planning properly. Your wedding definitely has to be grand enough!”

Upon seeing how eager Felicia was to plan the wedding, Suzanne quickly waved her hand and hurriedly said, “No, Mom. It’s not urgent. We can take our time with this.” As she said that, she unwittingly clasped her hands together.
