Chapter 57

Outside, the waiting crowd was growing impatient. Only Shane was casually leaning against the window in the hallway, his expression even calmer than before. The longer it went on with no word, the more it proved that Suzanne was astute.

As Shane watched Marvin and Suzy pacing in front of him, he felt quite frustrated. “Take a break, Mr. Guerra. I think it’ll still take some time.” The couple was filled with worry. They could hardly sit still.

Inside the room, Rodney remained in the position where he was about to strike Suzanne. His body itched unbearably. On top of that, he had to endure the pain from holding the uncomfortable posture. Sweat poured down his forehead. The pain was almost unbearable. He couldn’t hold on any longer. He blinked rapidly as he begged Suzanne for mercy.

Finally, an hour and fifteen minutes passed. Suzanne slowly lifted her head to look at Rodney. She asked softly, “Are you still going to attack me?” She pulled another silver needle from her pouch and held it between her fingers. With a flick of her middle finger, she tapped the needle. The needle wobbled slightly. Catching the sunlight from the window, it gleamed with a chilling glint.

Rodney, enduring intense pain, looked at the needle in her hand. His eyes were filled with terror. This woman was a devil! Rather than enduring this pain, it would be better to let her treat him. At least it wouldn’t be this torturous. At that thought, he blinked like crazy.

Suzanne finally gave a satisfied nod. “Good. If there’s a next time, it’ll be three hours, and then six. I’ll double the time with each instance.” She paused for a moment. Smiling, she continued nonchalantly, “I have all the time in the world anyway.”

Rodney froze. If given a second chance, he would never mess with her again. She was terrifying. Suzanne removed the needle from his acupoint, and he finally experienced the relief he had been craving. He immediately scratched at his skin until the unbearable itching was eased. This time, he didn’t dare to resist. That kind of suffering was too much.

Suzanne nodded in satisfaction. “Get up. Come with me.” The door that had been shut for almost two hours finally opened. Seeing Suzanne unharmed, Marvin let out a long sigh of relief. He rushed over with Suzy, their faces full of concern. “How is he?”

Suzanne replied gently, “Don’t worry. He’s fine.” She stepped aside, revealing a subdued Rodney behind her. His face no longer carried any trace of hostility. Shane’s smile widened at the sight. So, she had handled him.

Just then, Suzanne’s voice rang out. “Shane, where’s the room you set up?” Shane straightened up. With a grin, he quickly walked ahead. “Come on. I’ll show you.”

In the sauna room, Shane had already set everything up. The temperature was perfect, and he had placed the herbal concoction that had been prepared in… Suzanne stepped inside the sauna and turned to look at Rodney. “Get in and strip down.”

Rodney froze, staring at her in disbelief. “I–I won’t—” But the words caught in his throat. He couldn’t bring himself to argue because he had already seen Suzanne take out a silver needle. With a resigned sigh, he trudged into the sauna.

Shane had been waiting to see some drama. But Suzanne shot him a look sharp enough to cut glass, and he immediately wiped the smile off his face. He touched his nose awkwardly and turned to the Guerra couple. “Mr. and Mrs. Guerra, the treatment is about to begin, so if you could…” Shane subtly gestured for them to leave.
