Chapter 1032

Lulu hadn't thought it through thoroughly. She felt that if the issue caused tension, it wasn't worth it.

โ€œConsidering Ms. Spencer's support, it might be better to concede this once. Besides, there's still no evidence anyone other than the Ironridge Estate servants is stirring things up,โ€ Lulu said.

Carissa said thoughtfully, resting her chin in her hand, โ€œItโ€™s better to be safe than sorry, but I have this handled. Donโ€™t worry. Iโ€™ll visit the workshop later.โ€

Claire, still nearby, agreed more with Carissa's approach. With the existing stir, the workshop needed a firm stance.

โ€œYour Grace, Iโ€™ll go with you.โ€

Carissa looked up. โ€œNo need, Claire. You stay and investigate. See if anyone's been paid to spread rumors.โ€

โ€œUnderstood!โ€ Claire replied before leaving.

Carissa then summoned Luke, asking him to visit Giles and determine how many mistreated servants were involved and which incidents were most serious.

Violet paced the garden, fuming. After circling for a while, she saw Helen in a pavilion, listening to music. Violet approached.

Seeing Violet, Helen signaled the singer to leave and turned to Gillian. โ€œLetโ€™s return to my room.โ€

Gillian smiled. โ€œMs. Spencer is coming over.โ€

Helen responded, โ€œI see her. She's pacing and puffing her cheeks. We don't need trouble. Let's go.โ€

Violet arrived to see Helen leaving. She knew she'd acted rashly, but she was furious. The large door she'd personally replaced was ruined, and Skye Embroidery's plaque was defaced with an unknown substance. Kyle had done the calligraphyโ€”did Carissa not care? Most hurtful was the trashing of their good intentions, leaving Violet disheartened.

"What are you daydreaming about?" Travis's voice came from behind her, followed by a light pat on her shoulder.

Violet grumbled, sitting in the pavilion with a sour expression, "Stop it. I'm already annoyed."

Travis gave her a mischievous look. โ€œWow, I never thought I'd see you and Carissa argue. You're a bit of a troublemaker, but you always listen to her. How did this even happen?โ€

Violet glared. โ€œHow do you know? You're such a busybody.โ€

Travis sat down opposite her, pleased with himself. โ€œWhat's going on that I don't know? What's got you so worked up? Haven't you ever been upset before? You're letting this little thing get to you?โ€

Violet grumbled, โ€œJessica was never good. Just get rid of her. Why let that trash trouble the common people and destroy everything we've worked for?โ€

Travis chuckled. โ€œPeople's intentions are the least valuable thing. The workshop has nothing to do with common folk. They probably feel they'll never need it, and deep down, they just dislike its existence. If it gets destroyed, so much the better.โ€

Violet's anger flared. โ€œThat's exactly why we can't let them destroy it! Just kick Jessica out! Why are we protecting her?โ€

Travis smirked. โ€œCarissa's not protecting Jessica; she's protecting the workshop. We've always listened to her, and we still do. I'm not going to preach, but she can face the city's storms without blinking because she's been through bigger ones.โ€

Those words hit Violet hard. Her anger softened into something more painful.

Seeing this, Travis was about to comfort her when his eyes flicked behind her. He burst out laughing. โ€œHa! Here she comes to apologize!โ€

Violet turned to see a figure performing somersaults, light as a feather, seemingly never touching the ground. After many flips, the person landed gracefully.

Violet laughed. โ€œHow childish. You're all grown up and still doing this?โ€
