Chapter 1110

This situation was volatile, but it couldn't escalate too farโ€”they still needed to allow Yuvan and his group to return to Valken. Violet exhaled, her anger far from extinguished. Payback would come later.

The Garrison Unit and Capital Guard arrived first. Alistair, intending to lead the Royal Guard out of the city, was prevented by the lack of royal orders. He'd escaped in disguise. Though unaware of every detail, they understood what had happened and were enraged. Violet was their mentor; harming her was like harming their parents. This was unforgivable.

After Claire quietly explained the events and Rafael and Carissa's plans, they restrained their fury. However, they ordered the Garrison Unit and Capital Guard to surround Yuvan and his men, focusing on the black-clad suicide soldiersโ€”scoundrels who killed without hesitation. Some were captured.

Then came Kevin. His future was important, but hearing the full story ignited his fury. Without thinking, he attacked Yuvan.

โ€œThe woman you kidnapped is my godsister!โ€ he shouted, his face contorted with rage. โ€œEven though she was rescued, you nearly violated her! You disgusting pervert! I'm going to avenge her!โ€

Kevin avoided Yuvan's face and body, aiming for his legs and groin. Violet, finding such brutality too distasteful, watched. Seeing Kevin deliver the blows she craved stirred something within her; her eyes welled, her nose twitched. This, she realized, was what it meant to be a mentor. Initially, she'd seen them as burdens.

Fiona wailed, pulling Molly along, trying to shield Yuvan. Kevin wouldn't hit women, but Molly, terrified of Violet, hid. Fiona took some blows while Molly trembled nearby.

The two county duchesses arrived, rushing to Yuvan's side. Their presence prevented Kevin from continuing. He stepped back, his frustration easing.

The guards and suicide soldiers hesitated. Action meant confronting Rafael and the Mystic Armyโ€”official troops on duty. A confrontation was risky; a political fallout would be disastrous.

Wayne watched helplessly as Yuvan was beaten. Yuvan was severely injured, but not fatally. Everyone had shown restraintโ€”except Violet. Her outburst, though powerful, didn't use her full strength, resulting only in broken ribs for Yuvan. Rafael stood before Wayne, his authority intimidating. Wayne could only offer a strained smile, apologizing, pleading for understanding.

The thunder of iron-hoofed cavalry announced Thomas's arrival. Torch-bearing soldiers rode swiftly toward them.

Thomas dismounted, greeting Rafael and Carissa with a respectful nod. His gaze swept over Yuvan and Wayne, cold and calculating.

โ€œWhatโ€™s going on here? Why are you gathered near the garrison outpost at this hour?โ€ Travis had briefed Thomas. He knew his godsister had been nearly violated, and anger simmered within him. But, given Rafael's involvement, he understood the need for diplomacy.

Wayne stepped forward. โ€œGeneral Farrell, we were resting. We werenโ€™t gathering troops.โ€

โ€œHow many of you are there?โ€ Thomas retorted. โ€œDoes that not look like a gathering of troops?โ€

Thomas turned to Rafael. โ€œYour Highness, this concerns the garrison's safety. While youโ€™re Chief Judge, I should handle this.โ€

Desperately, Wayne blurted, โ€œNo! General Farrell, listen! Prince Yuvan only wanted a womanโ€”he didnโ€™t intend to threaten the garrison!โ€ Rafaelโ€™s smile confirmed Wayneโ€™s suspicion; the plan was in motion. Yuvan's reputation was ruined.
