Chapter 124.6ย  Tears streamed down Malcolmโ€™s face as he knelt before his dad. โ€œDad, His Majesty no longer favors our family. Why must you force me to offend Hell Monarchโ€™s household as well?โ€ย  โ€œThen let me die,โ€ Gerald replied, his voice barely above a whisper. โ€œIf I die, you will all be free.โ€ย  With those words, he closed his eyes again, his energy all but spent. The few words he managed to say drained him completely.ย  Kylie had long since harbored a deep hatred for Carissa. The Quinton family, once at the height of power, had been struck a devastating blow by her actions. It left them severely weakened and ruined their reputation.ย  As a result, Kylie was also implicated.ย  Once outside, she said to Malcolm, โ€œSince it is Grandfatherโ€™s wish, then let us call for her. Itโ€™d be best to summon Mr. Murray as well. At least then, weโ€™ll have a witness to see how sheโ€™s the one whoโ€™s driven Grandfather to his death.โ€ย  Malcolm abruptly lifted his head. โ€œWhat are you saying? Do you truly want to see your grandfather die? Is that what you want?!โ€ย  โ€œDad,โ€ Kylie said, wiping away her tears. The cold calculation in her eyes was unmistakable. โ€ Grandfatherโ€™s right. Once he dies, our family will finally be free. As long as he lives, weโ€™ll be under scrutiny. Once heโ€™s gone, people will start to celebrate his accomplishments. In time, theyโ€™ll forget about him going to the gentlemenโ€™s retreats. All theyโ€™ll remember is the good he has done.โ€ย  Malcolm could hardly believe what he was hearing. โ€œAre you out of your mind? This is just your grandfatherโ€™s angry outburst! How can you take this seriously?โ€ย  โ€œListen to me,โ€ Kylie said, holding up her hand for him to calm down. โ€œIsnโ€™t Carissa to blame for what happened to Grandfather? He blamed her. Thatโ€™s why he wanted to see herโ€“to die in front of her. This is his way of getting revenge, but also a way of freeing our family. Being devoted is about following his wishes. If he wants this, then as his descendants, we must comply. Thatโ€™s how we show our respect.โ€ย  Malcolm disagreed. โ€œNo! We donโ€™t need to make an enemy of the Hell Monarchโ€™s household. Carissa may have done things I donโ€™t agree with, but she is a righteous person. Her actions to cleanse the gentlemenโ€™s retreats were the kingโ€™s orders, and there were Sandoria spies there. This wasnโ€™t a targeted move against our family.โ€ย  Kylie was livid. โ€œDad, youโ€™re blind to the truth! Whether we intended it or not, our family has already crossed paths with the Hell Monarchโ€™s household. We may try to walk the righteous path, but theyโ€™ll be scheming behind our backs!ย  โ€œIf we donโ€™t act first, weโ€™ll only end up manipulated. Right now, our family is suffering. Theย  $26 BONUSย  only way forward is to unite and help Connor secure his place as Crown Prince. After a few more years of patience, weโ€™ll return to our former glory.ย  โ€œRight now, the Hell Monarchโ€™s household has already shown they donโ€™t support Connor. The Hell Monarch and Lady Sylviaโ€™s dad, Lord Patrick are too close. If he backs Lady Sylviaโ€™s son, our family will never rise again!โ€ย  When Malcolm remained unmoved, Kylieโ€™s frustration boiled over.ย  โ€œDad, you said it yourselfโ€“Connor lacks the talent to secure his future on his own. Youโ€™ve worked to strategize for him before. Why have you stopped now? Have you given up on him?โ€ย  Malcolm was now in a state of confusion and unable to sort out his thoughts. He repeated himself in circles, lost in his indecision.ย  โ€œThis is different. Offending the Hell Monarch does no good for Connor or our family. Bringing Carissa to see your grandfather wonโ€™t benefit us, either. If our two families become enemies because of this, it will be irreversible.โ€ย  Kylie felt a pang of disappointment in her dad.ย  โ€œOnce this opportunity passes, thereโ€™s no turning back. We donโ€™t want to wage war with the Hell Monarchโ€™s household, but Carissa is at fault here.ย  โ€œEven if itโ€™s not because of Grandfather, she should have spoken up for King Sigmundโ€™s sake. Now, Grandfather specifically wants to see her, and I happen to be here. Iโ€™ll summon her myself. She wonโ€™t dare refuse.ย  โ€œIf Grandfather dies in front of her, the Hell Monarchโ€™s household will have no choice but to avoid us from then on. I donโ€™t understand what you mean by offending them. Hearing such wordsโ€“words that lift others while diminishing our strengthโ€“coming from my own dadโ€™s mouth truly leaves me disappointed and heartbroken.โ€ย  After she finished speaking, she ignored the continued attempts by Malcolm to persuade her and immediately sent someone to summon Carissa and Jeremiah.ย
