Chapter 514 (+25 BON)
Samuel was furious and embarrassed. He snapped, "You think so little of me, yet you're still eager to cling to me? Our feelings were never truly mutual. Our marriage was your obsession from the start, and I was simply pressured by the royal familyโฆ"
Leona's eyes were red, and her lips trembled. "Be quiet," she said, deeply ashamed and distressed. "I did have feelings for you, but you also claimed to have feelings for me. That's how this wretched union came about. If my family had any power, would you have dared mistreat me?"
Her tears fell uncontrollably. Despite her efforts to remain composed, her emotions overwhelmed her. So thin and fragile, she struggled to stifle her sobs, but failed. Her appearance stirred a fleeting sense of guilt in Samuel.
However, this guilt was short-lived. He had vowed loyalty to Ruby and to show no interest or pity toward other women. He responded coldly, "I mistreated you? Why don't you talk about how you mistreated her? You live comfortably in Gracehold Estate, while Ruby has to stay in that shabby place on Hibiscus Lane with me. They even want to take the manor back, and I've been stripped of my title as heir. My miserable situation with Ruby is all because of your refusal to accept her! And now, your cousin is making things worse, leading to the Oversight Department's accusations against me."
"What?!" Leona was enraged, her chest tightening. She lost her composure completely and could barely speak. In a fit of anger, she threw a pillow at him. It missed.
"You bastard!"
Samuel retorted coldly, "I've already apologized. Whether you accept it or not is your problem."
He turned to leave, but Leah grabbed his collar, nearly causing him to stumble. "May I speak?" she said sternly.
Samuel looked at her with disdain. "And why should youโฆ"
Before he could finish, Leah punched him. He felt a sharp ringing in his ears, his vision went dark. When he regained consciousness, he was on the ground, spitting blood. Fury surged through him, but he saw Leah bowing with a stern expression.

"I'm sorry. I apologize," Leah said. She helped him up, her expression serious. "Will you forgive me?"
"Forgive you? I want to kill you!" Samuel's eyes were bloodshot.
"If you still want to kill me after I apologized, why should she forgive you? Get out! No child would want a father like you!" Leah roared, shoving him into the corridor and slamming the door.
Samuel lay at the base of the stone steps. Abigail's summoned servants hurried to help, but he pushed them away. "Don't touch me! Get lost!"
After being struck by Leona's two companions, Samuel felt utterly disgraced. Without looking back, he stormed out.
Didn't they tell him to apologize? He had. His family was only momentarily angry; his grandmother would surely miss him and eventually call him back.
Leona wiped her tears, her voice choked. "Am I really that useless? I can't even argue properly, let alone scold him effectively."
Alana comforted her, "No, you were very effective this time. You scolded him and argued with him. It could have been stronger, but it's progress. You used to be unable to say anything at all."
Leah also encouraged her, "Yes, you did well. Practice more, and I'll bring him back for you to scold again. You'll improve."
Hazel wiped her own tears. "Your Grace, you did really well this time."
Leona replied bitterly, "Even you say I did well, Hazel. That just shows how weak I used to be."
