Chapter 612

Zoey, accompanied by her maid and servants, arrived at Valor Estate ahead of the party. Upon entering, she greeted Helen. Seeing Yuvan's family, Zoey's face paled; this was a significant blunder.

Guided by Lulu, Zoey entered the side hall and apologized to Carissa. "Lady Carissa, please forgive me. Viola's reckless behavior has offended you and Lady Helen. I sincerely apologize on her behalf."

Carissa waved dismissively. "Mrs. Prince, you've arrived at the right time. Please take her back. I've sent someone to Valor Estate, but doubt anyone will come from there now. It's best you handle this."

Viola looked at Zoey with tear-streaked eyes. Zoey gave her a cold glare before turning back to Carissa. "Of course, I'll take her back. I'll apologize in person another day."

Zoey approached Viola, her expression icy. "Are you walking back alone, or do I need someone to escort you?"

Despite Viola's indignation, she knew she had no choice but to follow the burly servant standing behind Zoey.

Carissa said coolly, "This can't happen again. I won't be so lenient if it does."

Viola tried to salvage her dignity, but Carissa's frosty gaze silenced her. A slight push from Zoey sent Viola stalking off in frustration.

Once outside, Zoey bowed to Carissa. "Lady Carissa, I truly apologizeโ€ฆ"

"You did it, didn't you?" Carissa interrupted. "You told Thomas about her and Silas, right?"

Zoey nodded. "Yes, Your Grace. I'm sorry for involving you."

Carissa, understanding Zoey's character, was nonetheless impressed by her admission. It took strength to prioritize principle over personal ties, especially when dealing with a sister-in-law like Viola.

"It's fine. We'll have coffee another day. For now, take her back. Our estate has strict rules. Hell Monarch Estate won't leak today's events. But there were guests in the main hall when she arrived. You noticed that, right?"

Zoey felt exhausted. She never imagined Viola would suspect Carissa, or dare to burst into the royal residence.

The sentence "truly have no idea why she thought you were the one who said anything. Your Grace. Itโ€™s completely unfounded. Ultimately, itโ€™s still my fault for not managing the aftermath properly.โ€ was grammatically incorrect and awkwardly phrased. It should be removed, as this information is implied in the narrative and then explicitly explained by Carissa shortly afterwards.

Carissa explained, "The other day at Arcane Sanctum, she saw Silas and me. She likely suspects Silas told me, and I told Thomas. This isn't your fault, Mrs. Prince. You didn't know about our encounter."

"Now it makes sense," Zoey sighed, her composure breaking as fatigue and helplessness showed. "She's always been a bit brainlessโ€”she thinks she can do things, but she can't. I'm truly sorry to have involved you, Your Grace."

"Enough formalities. Take her back now." Carissa understood Zoey's exhaustion. Having managed the troubled Warren household, she knew how frustrating unreasonable people could be.

"By the way," Carissa added, "Prince Yuvan's family was outside. They witnessed events, but heard nothing. If anyone tries to use this to approach youโ€ฆ I'll leave it to your discretion."

"Thank you, Your Grace. I'll take my leave now," Zoey nodded and exited.

Stepping outside, Zoey sensed more to Carissa's words. What did she mean? If Yuvan's family hadn't noticed anything, why would they come calling?

Zoey filed the thought away, knowing caution was wise. It was best to be prepared for the unexpected.
