Chapter 94: Unwelcome Revelations
Ellis felt utterly dumbfounded. Was her desire for a divorce that shocking? Do people really think it had to be Faston who kicked me to the curb? Please. Easton is no Prince Charming; to me, heโs a prick I wish I could get rid of.
As soon as the call connected, Morty couldnโt wait to ask, โEaston, between you and Mrs. Hudson, did she initiate the divorce?โ
If anyone was a scoundrel, it was definitely Morty, skilled in playing different faces in front of and behind people. Hearing him politely refer to her as Eastonโs wife, in stark contrast to his earlier disdainful tone, made Ellis roll her eyes.
Just the other day, Morty had grilled her about whether her divorce was real, and today he was probing whether it was her idea. Easton, already running low on patience with Morty, responded icily, โWhatโs wrong with you?โ
Their issues were their own, and he disliked others meddling, especially those who were overly talkative and lacked tact. Morty didnโt have his phone on speaker, so Ellis couldnโt hear Eastonโs response. But seeing Mortyโs expression shift slightly before he put away his phone and averted his gaze, she coolly asked, โWhat did Easton say?โ
Easton had uttered just three words before hanging up, and Morty, ignoring Ellis, turned and walked back towards the community.
Chasing after an answer, not trusting her, and running to that scumbag for confirmation. Is fleeing all he could manage when his mouth got him into trouble? Ellis scoffed dismissively and hailed a cab.
Contrary to Ellisโs assumption, Morty wasnโt fleeing; he just moved away to call Victoria. โEaston finally shows signs of divorce. Donโt screw this up. Move fast and seal the deal!โ
Ellisโs stubbornness about divorcing Easton was something Carly couldnโt accept.
Thinking over it, dissolving Easton and Ellisโs prenup and ensuring Ellis got a substantial settlement in the divorce seemed feasible, but before any good news came, a nightmare arrived first.
Suddenly, someone barged into the mansion, commanding, โMs. Carly, you canโt stay here any longer. You must move out today.โ
The mansion was one of the Hudson familyโs properties, where she had been born and raised. She had lived elsewhere when younger, but a few years ago, after her father moved to a mansion for his retirement, the mansion was vacated, and she moved back in.
Having lived there comfortably, being evicted by strangers was baffling. Carly asked in displeasure, โAre you joking? Who are you people? Bursting into my homeโฆโ
Before she could finish, a document was shown to her; the other party stated matter-of-factly, โThe deed is in Mr. Eastonโs name! He instructed this. Please cooperate!โ
Scott had divided the assets long ago, and Carly was unclear about the ownership of the mansion. Hearing it was given to Easton wasnโt a surprise since he was a favored heir. What shocked her was Easton denying her residence there, especially after recalling that he had alsoโฆ

Chapter 94: Unwelcome Revelations
Carly tried reaching Sophia multiple times without success, and, growing frustrated and anxious, she turned to call Ellis, โEllis, whatโs going on with you and Easton?โ
Just back home from Petal Estates, Ellis received Carlyโs call and was tempted to ignore it. Carly sounded clearly upset, and silence would only make her angrier. โWeโฆweโre discussing divorce.โ
โEaston wonโt let me stay in the mansion; did you know?โ Guessing Ellis probably didnโt know, Carly scanned the people beside her and continued, โCan you talk to Easton and find out whatโs really going on?โ
Easton wasnโt just targeting her but also Carly. Ellis lay back on her bed, feeling utterly defeated. โMs. Carly. Iโm sorry: I just canโt deal with him right now,โ
Going to Easton would be like begging for mercy, wouldnโt it? His arrogant demeanor, as if he controlled the fate of everything and everyone, treating her like an ant he could easily crush, was just revolting and infuriating. She wasnโt about to grovel.
โYou go to him, or should I?โ Carly frowned in dissatisfaction. โHe wonโt see me!โ
โHe probably wonโt see me either! Andโโ Ellis paused to think for a few seconds. โYesterday at the Civil Affairs Department, everything was going smoothly until he suddenly stormed off. We even had a big fight.โ
โMs. Carly, maybe you could stay somewhere else temporarily?โ
โI have no other place! I love living in the mansion!โ Carly admitted it sincerely.
Over the years, her investments had continuously failed; properties were mortgaged and sold to settle bank loans. Crucially, the mansion was a grand, well-located property in Stonebridge, a place of good feng shui where she had lived comfortably.
โMaybe you could stay in a hotel for a while?โ Ellis suggested, unable to think of a better solution.
After all, she couldnโt possibly confront that scumbag to make him stop troubling Carly and leave the mansion for her.
