Listen to this chapter:

Tiffany fell silent. "Ask? How? Will he tell the truth just because I ask?"

The bedroom fell into an indescribable silence. Time passed, and Tiffany remained silent. Richard waited patiently.

Finally, Tiffany decided to be frank. "Two days ago, someone climbed through my window and said he was paid to kill me. Do you know about this?"

Richard replied, "I didn't know until today."

"It's said to be an assassin organization. Do you know this?" Tiffany asked calmly, expecting a fabricated excuse.

Unexpectedly, Richard said frankly, "I know. I'm the boss behind it."

"What?" Tiffany was shocked. He had admitted it outright. Although she had suspected it, she was still stunned. This organization was shrouded in mystery; their whereabouts were uncertain, yet their reputation was formidable. They were terrifying, though they'd been low-key in recent years, inaccessible to ordinary people. This time, Tiffany believed her chances against Garry were slim if she relied solely on strength. She'd had a premonition, so she'd prepared poison beforehand. Otherwise, she couldn't have tricked Garry so easily.

Tiffany raised an eyebrow, her thoughts swirling. "I thought you wouldn't admit it."

"Sorry," Richard said, his gaze falling on the faint red mark on Tiffany's neck. "I'm going to go back and beat Garry up again!" He wouldn't let the matter rest.

"This won't happen again, I promise." He supported himself on the bed, leaning over. They were close, their shadows merging on the floor.

Tiffany was momentarily stunned before replying, "I have no secrets from you. I'll tell you everything. I'll get you anything you want, even the stars, so trust me completely. Don't doubt me."

This left Tiffany dazed. Since we met, he's protected me repeatedly. I have no value to be targeted. Thereforeevery word he said should be true!

Tiffany opened her mouth, unsure how to respond.

Richard chuckled and ruffled her hair. "If you're interested, I'll give it to you. I'll cover for you if you get into trouble. No matter what trouble you cause, I'll make it up to you." His voice, soft, gentle, and magnetic as always, held an unprecedented seriousness.

Tiffany blurted out, "If you give me everything, what are you after?"

"I'm after you," he began, his lips curling into a smile, but a knock interrupted him. Thalia called from outside, "Tiffany, do you want some cake? I just bought it."

Receiving no reply, Thalia used her spare key. Tiffany was shocked. What if someone sees Richard in my room in the middle of the night?

She quickly sat up, scrambling to hide Richard. "Hide here and don't make a sound!" she whispered, opening the door. "Mom, I just fell asleep."

"Oh, then sleep well. Do you still want cake? I even brought your favorite Flamin' Hot Cheetos," Thalia said, entering. "I'll put it on the table."

"I'll get it," Tiffany said, but Thalia was already inside. Tiffany felt guilty, fearing Richard's discovery. Luckily, dolls and pillows piled high on the bed obscured him.

After setting down the treats, Thalia reminded Tiffany to sleep early. Tiffany, relieved, locked the door and rushed back to the bed. "Fortunately, you weren't discovered. You can come out now."

She expected a suffocated Richard, but instead found him asleep and seemingly enjoying himself. The crisis averted, Tiffany ate the cake and Cheetos with gusto. When she finished, Richard was still asleep.

"Hey, wake up!" Tiffany angrily kicked him.

Richard sighed. "You heartless girl"

Despite this, the day's events were a significant win. He stood, transforming from a seemingly lazy man back into an elegant gentleman. "Then I'm leaving." His smile illuminated the room.

Tiffany was stunned. A handsome man is a misleading factor. A goodnight kiss landed on her forehead before he vanished.

"A**hole," Tiffany murmured, feeling her cheeks burn.

Chapter 122

Tonight felt like a dream. In her dream, Richard had shown her she was special. The assassin organization, unattainable to outsiders, was casually offered to her like a toy.

Tiffany pondered. She preferred to believe Richard had nothing to do with her past life's mastermind. He was powerful, needing no one, untouchable. His wealth and power were beyond others' reach. How could he be involved with a mere "ant"?

Then who helped Sandra? Tiffany thought of Melody, Kenneth's true love in her past life. Their romance ended when Melody accidentally killed someone, begging Kenneth for help. He was about to use his family's influence when Melody suggested a replacement. Kenneth, hopelessly romantic, agreed. He found Tiffany, promising marriage in exchange for taking the blame.

Tiffany had fallen for the trap. How much did Melody contribute to the Kelley family's destruction while Tiffany was imprisoned?

Tiffany took a deep breath. The past was unchangeable. "People have to look forward. I'll never repeat the same mistake!" Melody, a transfer student, would soon appear at school. "I'm really looking forward to it."

Please note: I have removed the obviously censored words and left placeholders. Also, some sentences were awkwardly phrased and needed significant restructuring for clarity and flow. The narrative is still somewhat disjointed, possibly due to the original text's style.
