Listen to this chapter:

Tiffany thought, "We're friends? That sounds familiar!" She blinked, remembering telling Ged the same thing. She wondered if Richard also considered her a friend, perhaps because she'd saved Evan and he'd waived her bill. Feeling helpless, she mused on her perpetually thwarted desire to spend money. Unable to refuse his kindness, she murmured, "Thank you."

"You're welcome," Richard replied, secretly glancing at Jeremy. Jeremy yawned, informed Tiffany he was going upstairs to sleep, and showed no concern for the outside world. His laid-back nature prevented him from noticing—let alone understanding the complexities of—another man's interpretation of Tiffany's gifts. That simply wasn't his style.

Tiffany waved calmly. "Go ahead."

Evan, witnessing this, blinked his large eyes and asked curiously, "Miss Wood, is that gentleman your relative?"

Tiffany thought, 'Relative?' Then, she replied, "I guess so." In her eyes, Jeremy and June were more than subordinates; they were friends and companions.

Evan nodded, seemingly understanding. Then, he said, "Miss Wood, Uncle is holding a birthday party for me tomorrow night. Can I invite you to attend?"

Evan had been bedridden for nearly two years, presumed to be in a coma for life. However, to everyone's surprise, he awoke fully recovered. After a short recuperation, he appeared no different from a normal child. Therefore, the birthday party celebrated not only his recovery but also his return to the family.

Tiffany smiled and agreed. "Sure."

The Miracle Healer's mysterious existence attracted many, but suspicion lingered among others. Evan's successful recovery from a coma was undeniably the best proof of her abilities, serving to generate hype and fame. Perhaps, she mused, she could capitalize on the birthday party to make a significant profit. This thought brought an even brighter smile to her face.

"Looks like I'll have to spend some effort preparing a birthday gift for you," she said, stroking Evan's head. Remembering her manners, she greeted Richard: "Mr. Hampton, make yourself at home. Please forgive my lack of hospitality."

Richard remained silent, understanding her thoughts. However, her smile illuminated her beautiful face with a captivating glow. Despite knowing her intentions, he found her…adorable. He lowered his eyes, concealing the gleam in them.

After playing with Evan, a servant approached, whispering, "Miss Wood, someone is here to visit."

"Who?" Tiffany asked.

"She says she's Mia from the Lee family."

Tiffany raised an eyebrow, sensing trouble. "Oh? She's probably here to cause trouble. Let her in."

"Yes," the servant replied, immediately retreating.

Minutes later, Mia's angry voice echoed from outside. "That diamond mine is a trap, right? Listen, I'm not done with you today—"

She stormed in, but upon seeing the striking Richard in the living room, fell abruptly silent. Stunned by his presence, her aggressive demeanor vanished, replaced by obvious nervousness and caution.

Tiffany said playfully, "Miss Lee, what brings you here today?" She inwardly worried: "Richard must have heard my sharp shout. Will he think I'm always like this, lacking the elegance of a prestigious family's daughter?"

Mia was flustered and angry. She quietly observed Richard, who sat leisurely on the sofa, casually playing with an exquisite white porcelain cup. He exuded an air of magnificence, yet ignored her completely.

Frustrated, Mia even glared at Tiffany, wondering why Richard readily smiled at Jacqueline and Tiffany, yet ignored her.

Suppressing her anger, Mia said, "Why did you lie to me? There's no diamond mine on that mountain, yet you tricked me into spending 20 million dollars! Aren't you going too far?"

She spoke indignantly, portraying Tiffany as an evil cheat. Mia's agitation stemmed from a desire to expose Tiffany's true nature to Richard.

Tiffany was amused. "I lied to you? Weren't you the one begging me to sell it to you?"

"How was I to know there was no diamond mine?" Mia exclaimed. "If you hadn't instigated me, I wouldn't have humiliated myself."

"Is that so?" Tiffany touched her chin, then corrected Mia, "No, you didn't humiliate yourself here. It was… when you were a model on that city billboard, wasn't it?"

Mia was speechless, her expression changing instantly. That past humiliation was a painful memory, now cruelly dredged up in front of Richard.

Mia trembled with anger, trying to defend herself. "I was a victim; someone took revenge on me."

"Oh," Tiffany replied, feigning sympathy.

Mia was about to retort when Richard's voice interrupted. He casually placed his cup on the table, a flicker of impatience in his handsome eyes.

"Have you said enough?" he asked.

Mia fell silent, her heart sinking. This was Richard's first initiative to speak to her, yet his tone was cold and devoid of warmth.

"I'm sorry," she mumbled, reluctant to leave.

Evan, who had quietly observed, sensing his uncle's disgust, stood up. "Miss Wood, Uncle and I will go back now. Remember to come tomorrow."

"Will do," Tiffany said, patting Evan's head as she saw them off.

Even after the car departed, Mia lingered, her eyes filled with indignation. Tiffany stretched. "Please leave too," she said, instructing a servant to escort Mia.

"Wait," Mia called out, changing her tone. Cautiously, she asked, "You know how to use medicine, right? Is there any medicine that can make people lose their rationality…between a man and a woman?"

Tiffany understood immediately. "Yes," she replied calmly, "The medicinal effect is super strong. Just a little will do."
