Listen to this chapter:

Richard hugged Tiffany gently, as if she were a rare treasure. His cold face was etched with fear and self-reproach. Towering anger enveloped him, yet his movements were careful, afraid of hurting her.

After Tiffany spoke, her vision blurred, and she fainted. Richard carried her away, his gaze fixed ahead as he ran. Before entering the car, he ordered, "Don't let those few die easily."

"Yes, sir!" His men watched as he drove off. Richard was a whirlwind, decisive in his comings and goings, leaving only a cold, noble, and mysterious presence. Tension hung heavy in the air, yet the girls screamed excitedly, "Mr. Hampton! Ahh, that's Mr. Hampton!"

Immensely wealthy, powerful, untouchable, and handsome, Richard was the dream of billions. Every girl longed to be his lover, to be treated uniquely by him, to be his wife, Mrs. Hampton. Yet, no one could breach his defenses, his inaccessibility akin to a rare cliffside flower.

But that day, his treatment of Tiffany revealed a side the public had never seen, a declaration of his exclusivity. The girls exchanged envious, amazed glances. Melody asked curiously, "Who is he?"

One girl scoffed, "You don't know who he is? Have you been living under a rock? That's Mr. Hampton, head of the Hampton family. He controls a significant portion of the global economy—he's untouchable."

"I see," Melody replied, unfazed by their mockery. "Then what's Tiffany's relationship with Mr. Hampton?" Her genuine curiosity sparked her classmates' jealousy, quickly quelled by their understanding of their own limitations. They could only envy Tiffany.

One girl stated, "That's not for you or me to comment on."

Another added bluntly, "Don't even ask. Mr. Hampton isn't someone you can aspire to, understand?"

Melody smiled, her flawless face innocent, yet a hint of disdain and pride gleamed in her eyes. Unattainable? We'll see about that.

Soon, a car arrived. Kenneth and Ged were seriously injured; one still reeling from his wounds, the other weak. Ged, attempting to fight the assassin, had been thrown aside, covered in wounds. Zoe had fainted from shock. All were sent to the hospital.

Meanwhile, at Royal Bay, Sidney was summoned. Under Richard's intense gaze, he treated Tiffany's gunshot wound. Fortunately, it missed vital organs, though it pierced her flesh.

Sidney breathed a sigh of relief. "It's not too serious. She's lucky. The bullet missed her bones and nerves."

Richard frowned coldly. "Not serious? Look at her!" He wanted to destroy the man who'd hurt her.

Sidney countered, helpless, "Remember when you were gravely wounded? This is nothing compared to that!"

Richard's face darkened. "Are you comparing me to her? Treat her wound. And be gentle."

"Got it," Sidney sighed, reflecting on the cold-blooded man he knew. Days earlier, he'd expected Richard and Tiffany to break up. But he'd overheard Tiffany's car had a flat tire after school. Richard, sensing something was wrong, had dropped everything to rush to her aid.

Sidney, regardless of whether Tiffany heard, murmured as he treated her wound, "Tiffany, he loves you deeply"

Tiffany, exhausted and injured, slept soundly. Perhaps knowing she was safe, or seeing Richard before fainting, she felt at peace.

She slept for two days and two nights. Awakening, she expected to see Richard, planning what she would say. Instead, she was in a hospital, guarded by James and June. Their relief was palpable. "You're awake! Does your wound hurt? Take your medicine."

Tiffany turned away, refusing the pill. "Why am I here? Where's Richard?" She remembered seeing him before fainting, and her peaceful sleep at Royal Bay. Her disappointment was clear.

James sighed, "Tiffany, isn't it good to have us here?"

Tiffany forced a smile. "Pretty good." She closed her eyes, pale and weak. "I'll sleep. You don't need to stay."

June frowned, but left with James. "Why did you do that?" she asked.

James had gone to Royal Bay the night of the accident, but Richard, nearly killing him before, had been ready to attack again. Yet, James' words stopped him: "If you kill me, she'll hate you."

June was shocked. Richard, the rumored cold-hearted man, had prioritized Tiffany's feelings.
