Listen to this chapter:

At that moment, Tiffany was utterly confused, wondering why everyone was looking at her. She hadn't stolen anything or done anything wrong, yet suddenly dozens of eyes were fixed on her, leaving her feeling dazed. She asked, "Is there something you need from me?"

On the ground, Victor, struggling to support his frail body, stood up. His cloudy eyes fell on Tiffany. The girl before him wore a floral dress. Her features were delicate, giving her a clean and fresh look. However, she didn't seem as stunning as she had appeared at first glance. Disappointment instantly washed over Victor, and he shook his head.

"It's not her," he said. His butler had been right. His aging eyes had deceived him.

Tiffany, too, found Victor familiar. He was the elderly man she had saved in an alleyway in Traron City. People said he was the true owner of Treasure Tower and the head of the Ashton family, one of the four major families in Traron City. However, Tiffany's appearance had changed; even her parents wouldn't recognize her, let alone Victor, who had been gravely injured that night. There was no way she could claim the favor.

Tiffany stopped thinking about it and asked, "Can I leave now?"

The doors opened, and the other guests of Treasure Tower resumed browsing, apologizing as they went. The misunderstanding had passed.

Victor looked devastated, muttering, "It's been almost twenty years twenty years"

His butler hurried to comfort him. "Mr. Ashton, please don't lose hope. If you stay strong, you'll surely find the child Mrs. Ashton sent away all those years ago. So you must stay well. You will reunite with your granddaughter!"

Victor smiled bitterly. "I hope so." After searching for so many years with no news, he knew the chances were slim. Perhaps the baby had died on the journey. Continuing the search seemed futile, a mere comfort.

After leaving Treasure Tower, Tiffany quickly dismissed the earlier confusion. She hailed a cab and headed toward Royal Tower to find Richard. He definitely wouldn't be at Royal Bay; he was most likely at the office. She couldn't easily get inside the building, so she waited outside, hoping to catch him. After all, with her altered appearance, no one would recognize her.

When she arrived at Royal Tower and exited the cab, a roaring black sports car zoomed by and stopped beside her. A woman in a red dress stepped out. With chestnut-colored wavy hair, a slender figure, and oversized sunglasses covering half her face, only her bold red lips were visible. She exuded allure and sultry charm. It was the A-list actress, Milly Beck.

Tiffany frowned, wondering why Milly was at Royal Tower. She figured Milly was there to see Richard. Her instincts were usually spot on.

After getting out of the car, Milly walked confidently into the Royal Tower lobby, the click of her high heels echoing. The receptionist didn't seem particularly excited; this clearly wasn't her first visit.

"Hello, may I ask who you're here to see?" the receptionist asked.

"I'm here to see Mr. Hampton," Milly replied, adjusting her sunglasses with an assured smile. This was her third time that week. She hadn't been able to meet Richard the first two times because he wasn't in the office, but she was sure she wouldn't leave empty-handed this time. She wasn't worried that Richard wouldn't meet her; she was confident no man could resist her charm.

The receptionist smiled politely. "Let me connect you. Please wait a moment."

"Go ahead," Milly replied casually, not intending to go upstairs. She sat on a nearby sofa. In her mind, any man hearing her name should come down to meet her, not the other way around.

It only took a few seconds for the receptionist's call to reach Richard's executive assistant, Tyrone.

"Mr. Huber, there's a Miss Milly Beck here to see Mr. Hampton," the receptionist said. "Please pass on the message."

"Milly Beck? The actress?" Tyrone asked.

"Yes," the receptionist replied.

Tyrone carefully knocked on Richard's office door. Richard's cold voice responded, "Is this something worth bothering me with? Tell her I'm not seeing her."

Richard's face remained composed, his air of laziness failing to conceal his nobility and authority. His eyes were devoid of warmth, tinged with impatience and a flash of anger. His presence was overwhelming and intimidating. Tyrone knew he had walked into a storm. Richard had little patience for uninvited women, and this was a trivial matter. Milly or not, she needed to leave.

A cold sweat broke out on Tyrone's forehead as he quickly nodded. "Apologies. I'll handle it right away."

"Don't let this happen again," Richard said before looking away, his cold expression unchanging.

Feeling relieved, Tyrone swiftly retreated. Only after stepping out did the suffocating pressure ease slightly. Wiping the sweat from his forehead, Tyrone realized how terrifying Richard had become. Once, Richard had been more approachable, but ever since he stopped seeing Tiffany, his temper had become increasingly unpredictable, leaving everyone on edge. Tyrone missed Tiffany. Legend had it that everyone has weaknesses, and only Tiffany brought warmth to Richard, weakening his intimidation.

With a sigh, Tyrone returned to his desk and coldly relayed the message: "Mr. Hampton said he won't see her. And in the future, don't bother reporting every little visitor!"

The phone was on speaker; Milly heard every word.

In disbelief, Milly exclaimed, "What? Did Mr. Hampton really say that? Why won't he see me? I don't believe it!" Her frustration boiled over. She refused to believe any man could resist her beauty. This beauty had propelled her to the top of the A-list in just two years.

Humiliated and furious, she said, "You must not have explained it clearly. I'll speak to Mr. Hampton myself!" She attempted to barge in.

The security guards immediately stopped her.

Milly snapped, "Let me go! Do you know who I am? I'm Milly! A-list actress Milly Beck!"

The phone was still connected; Tyrone heard the commotion. Taking a deep breath, he launched into a scathing rebuke. "An A-list actress? So what? You're not above the rules, and neither is anyone else! Royal Tower is not a playground where you can waltz in whenever you like. I don't care how famous you are. You're just nobody here. If you keep causing a scene, I'll get you blacklisted immediately!"

Milly was dumbfounded. She was baffled that an assistant would dare to snap at her.
