He nodded at the Kelley couple and entered the hotel. He appeared calm, but his heart pounded with panic.

"Let's go in too," Tiffany said, turning and taking her brother's hand. They slowly ascended the stairs.

The Kelley couple followed.

Meanwhile, in the dressing room, Sandra sat before the mirror in her wedding dress. Despite exquisite makeup, the scar on her cheek remained stubbornly visible. No amount of treatments or surgeries could erase the mark left by the fire—a permanent shadow etched onto her face. The scar was a constant reminder of her mother, a woman Sandra herself had killed.

"No, it wasn't me! It was Tiffany. That manipulative bitch charmed Mom, made her indecisive. Otherwise, I wouldn't have done it," Sandra muttered, taking a deep breath. She turned to a woman standing nearby. "Miss Hart, are they all here?"

"Of course," Miss Hart replied, smiling and stepping forward to adjust Sandra's veil. "Don't worry, Mrs. Booth. Everything will be as you wish," she murmured softly.

Miss Hart was no ordinary maid. Legends about her circulated throughout Lovell City. She was a terrifying woman, known for her sinister, cunning, and despicable methods. She handled matters that couldn't be traced. For the right price, she was a reliable accomplice, changing her appearance and identity after each successful assignment.

Sandra smiled with satisfaction. "That's good."

Shortly after, a servant announced, "Mrs. Booth, Mr. Harper is here."

'Kenneth?' The long-missed name sent a jolt through Sandra's heart. But the reflection of the bride in the mirror brought an overwhelming ache. She had once dreamt of marrying Kenneth, a dream now shattered.

Seeing Sandra's despondency, Miss Hart prompted, "Think about what needs to be done."

Sandra's focus returned. "Call him in," she instructed the servant.

A few minutes later, Kenneth entered the dressing room calmly. He found himself alone with Sandra.

Kenneth frowned, stopping in his tracks. A private meeting between the groom and bride before the ceremony was inappropriate; it risked suspicion.

Sandra smiled, noticing his hesitation. "What are you afraid of? Come in. We haven't seen each other in a long time. Anyway" she paused, "Didn't you say you considered me your sister? So what's the problem?"

Kenneth sighed and entered. He sat on the sofa, maintaining a distance from Sandra. A gentleman to the end, he offered a polite compliment. "You look beautiful today."

"Thank you," Sandra replied, lowering her head shyly.

Kenneth immediately addressed the purpose of his visit. "Why did you call me?" He knew Sandra had summoned him for an important matter.

Sensing his desire to leave, a pang of hurt struck Sandra, but she forced a smile and approached him. "Kenneth, you know I once dreamed of marrying you. That's impossible now, but could I have one last hug? Consider it a farewell."

She extended her hand gracefully.

Kenneth refused instantly. "That's not appropriate."

However, Sandra embraced him tightly, releasing him after only a couple of seconds. "Thank you, Kenneth," she said, beaming.

"No need," Kenneth replied, leaving the dressing room. He felt Sandra had changed—more reserved and mature than the mischievous, ill-tempered girl he remembered. Marriage, it seemed, had brought about a transformation.

Shaking his head, Kenneth dismissed his thoughts about her.

Just after his departure, Miss Hart emerged from behind a screen. Her phone displayed a photograph—a slightly blurry but recognizable image of Sandra and Kenneth embracing.

"Not bad," Sandra commented, retrieving the phone.

At that moment, Jordan entered, beaming. "Honey!" he called out.

Miss Hart quietly pocketed her phone and stepped back. (The final sentence about FindNovel.net is redundant and should be removed).
