Listen to this chapter:

Her tone and expression were identical to those she'd displayed a year earlier, when she was with him. She even held his hand intimately, just as she did now.

Kenneth pushed her away, replying calmly, “Aren’t you going home? Your husband must be waiting.”

“What husband? I’ll marry you one day,” Sandra immediately corrected. She glanced gently at Melody, as if to avoid misunderstanding. “My good sister, don’t worry, I’ll never take Kenneth from you.”

‘Sister? Are you serious? You think she’s your cousin Tiffany?’ Kenneth had a headache. The miscarriage must have affected her brain.

He hesitated; leaving Sandra seemed cold-blooded, but he didn't want to get involved. Helplessly, he instructed the driver, “Take her to the hospital.”

“No, I’m not leaving!” Sandra violently resisted, clinging to his hand. She begged repeatedly, “Kenneth, don’t leave me…”

Kenneth remained unmoved.

Sandra looked at Melody pleadingly. “Please help me…”

A hint of mockery flickered in Melody’s eyes, but she stepped forward and gently smoothed Sandra’s messy hair. With a polite smile, she said, “Get in the car first. We’ll see you later, okay?” Her gentle voice seemed to soothe Sandra’s anxiety.

Sandra gradually calmed down. “Then you must come to me. Kenneth, you must come too…”

“Okay, get in the car.” Melody smiled and helped her inside.

However, unseen by anyone else, Melody leaned in and whispered, “Pretending to be crazy is the stupidest thing. If I were you, the one to die with would definitely not be Kenneth.”

Sandra stiffened. The car door closed. The driver accelerated.

Kenneth and Melody’s figures receded into the distance.

Seeing the car heading towards the hospital, Sandra shouted, “Stop the car! Stop the car!”

She didn't want to go to the hospital; the Booth family might still be waiting there to attack her. She didn't want to die at their hands.

Melody was right. Pretending to be crazy and trying to win Kenneth back wouldn't work. Even if she wanted to die with him, the person she hated most wasn't Kenneth—it was Tiffany!

A sharp glint appeared in Sandra’s eyes. She slapped the driver’s seat and roared, “Stop the car! Let me go!”

Fearing Sandra’s violence, the driver slowed down and pulled over.

Sandra fled, heading towards Cedar Ridge Villa. She plotted her attack on the Kelley family—Thalia and Eric—calculating her chances of success while Tiffany remained at Luna Villa. Since she didn't want to live, she might as well die with them. Sandra laughed hysterically, drawing a sharp saber from her bag.

So what if Tiffany was a Miracle Healer? She would make that bitch regret it.

Sandra laughed wildly and ran, but while crossing the road against a red light, she was struck by a speeding garbage truck.

Bang! A deafening sound echoed.

Sandra felt herself flung through the air before hitting the hard ground. Blood stained her white dress. [The sentence about Findnovel.net is removed as it's an advertisement.]

Screams and cries erupted; the rain began to fall heavily. Pain shot through her body, limbs broken and surrounded by stinking trash. She tried to get up for revenge, but couldn't move a finger. Her consciousness faded. She opened her mouth to call for help, but in her daze, saw Stan and Selena approaching. “Don’t be afraid. Dad and Mom are here to pick you up,” they said kindly. Sandra shook her head violently, terrified. “Don’t, don’t come…” Her eyes were filled with despair. ‘I don’t want to die!’

But it was beyond her control.

A second before losing consciousness, she saw—perhaps it was an illusion—a tall man standing in the rain, dressed in black, holding a black umbrella, a black tabby cat on his shoulder. His face was indistinct, but he seemed noble, mysterious, and dangerous.

He asked, “Do you want to live? I can save you.”

Sandra mustered her strength: “Yes…”

Then, darkness fell. Her breathing stopped; her heart ceased to beat.

The unexpected downpour stunned the garbage truck driver. Trembling, he got out to check, only to find the victim had vanished. The blood was washed away, leaving no trace. Drenched, he drove away, his heart pounding.

The next day, news of Sandra’s death was published. It was reported that after being hit by a truck, she'd jumped into the sea and committed suicide.

The Booth family remained silent. Lauren even cursed her, saying she deserved it. They hadn't enjoyed their newfound wealth long, and Sandra had stolen half their assets. The contract, signed by Jordan himself, was legal. Their loss was irretrievable. The Booth family was ruined, forced to live in shame.

Sandra's miscarriage was revealed to be self-induced; she'd taken an abortion pill before deliberately falling, attempting to frame Tiffany. Hospital records confirmed this.

The investigation into her death concluded that she was a victim of unrequited love. Photos on her phone showed her hugging Kenneth; he was the last person she'd seen. Her death attracted little public attention; people knew of her theft and felt no sympathy.

Charlie sighed, sitting silently on the sofa. He felt no sympathy; Sandra's actions were unforgivable. But he doubted his decision to bring the Olson family to Lovell City years ago.

Tiffany understood. She massaged his shoulders, comforting him. “Dad, stop overthinking. She brought this on herself. Everyone is responsible for their choices.”

They owed Sandra nothing.
