Listen to this chapter:

Melody Princeton couldn't hear the older woman's cries. The woman was still crying and begging, "Just assume I was possessed, that I did something stupid. I apologize. Please forgive me"

A clear, calm voice rang out from behind Melody. "She will never forgive you."

Melody spun around, shocked to see Tiffany Kelley. Tiffany's gaze was filled with mockery. "Did Jade Payne beg for mercy when you were about to take her life? Did you relent? Did your heart soften? You didn't. So what makes you think caring for her parents atones for your sin? What makes you think saying sorry is enough?"

Melody's face paled. "I didn't do anything! I don't know what nonsense you're talking about!"

Only Tiffany was present. If Melody refused to confess, what could Tiffany do without evidence? Melody sneered, "By the way, have you reflected on your actions? Aren't you guilty of unspeakable things? Didn't you drive Sandra Olson to her death?"

Tiffany raised an eyebrow. "Turn around. Look at the photo behind you and continue talking."

Behind Melody was Jade's photo—a stark reminder of what was once a living person. Tiffany watched intently. As long as Melody confessed, Tiffany would listen.

Melody clenched her fists. Tiffany taunted, "Why? Do you want to silence me, too?"

"Tiffany Kelley, don't go too far!"

"How? Didn't you say I was in your way, that you arranged for someone to eliminate me? You keep blaming others. How can I reason with you?" Tiffany shrugged.

"How did you know all this?" Melody's gaze sharpened. She'd changed her plan to target Alexia Harper, hoping to turn the Kelley and Harper families against each other. She'd even risked her life saving Alexia, hoping to secure a place in the Harper family. But how did Tiffany know?

"Take a guess," Tiffany replied.

Melody, not a fool, quickly pieced it together: Tiffany had bribed people around her. Melody's face darkened; she wanted to silence Tiffany.

Before she could act, Jade's parents arrived. Seeing Melody, they attacked her. "How can you face us? How can you face my daughter? How can there be such a ruthless person?" Mrs. Payne cried, her voice hoarse. Overwhelmed by grief and rage, they wanted revenge.

"Mrs. Payne" Melody pleaded.

This only enraged Mrs. Payne further. "Don't talk to me! I don't have a goddaughter like you!" Mrs. Payne fainted from anger. With one parent incapacitated and the other seeking help, Melody was momentarily free.

Melody glared at Tiffany. "So what if you brought these old fools? That old woman can't even take a sentence of provocation, yet she wants to bring me to justice? What a joke!"

Suddenly, footsteps approached. Dozens of uniformed police officers surrounded Melody. "Melody Princeton, you're under arrest."

Melody was stunned. Even when handcuffed, she was bewildered. "Why? Why are you arresting me?"

No one answered. She turned to Tiffany. "It's you! You set me up! You used that fortune teller to lure me here!"

Tiffany remained silent. Whether she'd set Melody up or not was irrelevant. Melody had done wrong, and justice would prevail.

Before being taken away, Melody mouthed something to Tiffany, who visibly paled.

June Spencer approached Tiffany, wanting to know what Melody had said. Tiffany dismissed her. "Get medical help first."

Mrs. Payne was fine, just fainted. June gave her a heart stabilizer. Soon, Mrs. Payne awoke. June, having arranged transportation, took the Paynes home.

Later, seeing Tiffany's distress, June offered comfort, mentioning the money Tiffany had sent the Paynes. Tiffany shook her head. "Let's go."

The rain stopped, a rainbow arcing across the sky, but Tiffany remained glum, eyes closed in the car. June wondered what Melody had said.

At Tiffany's villa, a servant reported a horrifying event: Mrs. Harper had sent a bulldozer to destroy the villa's entrance.
